Join the International Fact-Checking Network for the second GlobalFact Virtual session, focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping fact-checking. This 90-minute panel features fact-checkers and researchers working at the intersection of AI, fact-checking, and accountability reporting.
Speakers include Andy Dudfield, head of AI at Full Fact; Alex Mahadevan, director of MediaWise and co-author of Poynter’s AI ethics guide; and Gemma Mendoza, head of digital services at Rappler, where she leads technology teams. Enock Nyariki, IFCN’s communications manager and a member of Poynter’s AI Steering Committee, moderates the discussion.
The session builds on questions raised at GlobalFact 12 in Rio de Janeiro: What should fact-checkers build with AI? How should hallucinations be addressed? Does ClaimReview still have a role? What does AI mean for the IFCN Code of Principles? The panel also explores how AI is being used, what’s at stake for sustainability, and where fact-checkers should focus next.
