New freshman applicants must submit the following:
Completed Undergraduate Admission Application
Application Non-refundable $45 application fee
Official high school transcript
Official copy of ACT or SAT exam results*
Official copy of your General Education Development (GED) test results, if applicable.
Proof of passing all sections of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) - Ohio residents only
Homeschooled applicants must submit the following:
Completed Undergraduate Admission Application
Application Non-refundable $45 application fee
An official transcript showing documentation of coursework completed of grades 9-12 and indicating date of completion of studies or graduation must be sent to Admissions.
Official copy of ACT or SAT exam results*
A copy of the Superintendent's Exemption Notice showing the student is excused to receive home schooling.
*not required if applicant has an associate degree
International Documents:
If you have attended a high school outside of the United States, Youngstown State University now requires an international transcript evaluation as part of your admission process. To ensure your evaluation meets university standards, please carefully review the following requirements:
Your evaluation must be a course-by-course evaluation with copies of the original transcripts attached.
The evaluation must come from an agency approved by NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services).
Validential Evaluations and Foreign Consultants, Inc. are not accepted as they do not meet the standards required by the university.
Youngstown State prospects can order reports for a reduced rate by using the following approved agencies:
World Education Services (WES)*
International Education Evaluations (IEE)
The Evaluation Company (TEC)
*If you use WES, please request an ICAP evaluation, which meets our requirements.

Transfer/Post-Baccalaureate applicants must submit the following:

Non-refundable $45 application fee (waived for veterans and active duty military)
Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
Official high school transcript*
Official copy of your General Education Development (GED) test results, if applicable*

Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended since leaving Youngstown State University
If you were academically suspended: Students who were academically suspended and dismissed from the University must also petition for reinstatement to the university. Students requesting reinstatement must submit their reinstatement petition by the deadlines set by the Academic Reinstatement Committee. If you were academically suspended and apply for readmission after the reinstatement petition deadline your readmission application will be automatically deferred to the next available term. Former/Transfer Student Application
The RN to BSN online program at YSU is designed for working nurses with a desire to transform healthcare. Prepare to sharpen your practical and analytical skills, broaden your understanding of best practices and take on more responsibilities as a leader in a hospital or healthcare organization. This online nursing program will also prepare you to move forward with an enhanced evidence-based practice and the clinical reasoning that drives a culture of safety to better serve patients, colleagues and the environment.
RN to BSN applicants must submit the following:

Nonrefundable $45 application fee (waived if you are an active/veteran military member)
Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
ADN/ASN or Diploma in Nursing from a college or university with minimum 2.0 overall GPA
Current, unencumbered RN license

Undergraduate Application
College Credit Plus
(CCP) is a dual-enrollment program administered by the Office of College Access and Transition at Youngstown State University. While enrolled in CCP, middle/high school students are eligible to receive high school and college credit. You can take courses at your high school, online, or on YSU’s campus.
We encourage you to review the

before you apply, paying close attention to application deadlines. To participate, you must submit a letter of intent to your school (or the state if you are a non-public or home school student) by April 1 of each year. Contact your school's main office to find out how they handle this process.
