The agricultural sector's contribution to the Indian economy is much higher than world's average ... more The agricultural sector's contribution to the Indian economy is much higher than world's average of 6.4 percent. With a large population and a majority of its citizens dependent on agriculture, it is hard to individually provide agriculture related information to each farmer in India. Because of this, using information and communication technology (ICT) in the agricultural industry is a smart idea. Numerous ICT tools have been used to disseminate information quickly to the farmers about the best cultivation techniques, seed availability, cropping patterns, weather forecasting, fertilizer usage, market information, organic practices, insurance alerts, livestock diseases, exotic and native breeds, feeding management, livestock rearing, and various government programs related to agriculture. This paper evaluated various purpose of the usages of ICT tools and degree of ICT tools for getting market information particularly for the agricultural product. The present study was conducted from two villages of Maheswarpur Gram Panchayant of Jajpur district of Odisha where agriculture was the major occupation. The sample size was 120 farmers from two villages. The study finds that 65 percent of farmers use various types of ICT tools for connecting with agricultural market. The use of mobile phone is prominently used by the majority of farmers among different types of ICT tools. Therefore, the use of ICT tools in the agricultural sector is crucial for getting correct and fast information about the agricultural market for their product.

In supply side casual labourers form is going to be predominant form of labour in the market. Permanent labour forms such as attached labour, farm servants and bonded labour has been declined. Majority of farmers expressed that labourers may not available even in the lean/slack season. There is scarcity of labourers, it is a supply side constraint for the active labor market. Under this condition, new generations or upcoming labourers may not participate in the rural labour market. The laboures would be involved in MGNREGS works or non-agricultural actives than labour market. Therefore, the rural labour market is become inactive and functioning irregularly after implementation of MGNREGS. Another side, majority of big farmers is not willing for self-cultivation due to scarcity of labour and high labour cost. They are prepared for alternative choice either leased-out their lands and shift to non-agriculture sector or simply depend on rental income in the village. In these conditions, rural labour market would be inactive or irregular. Where rural labour market is irregular there would be opportunity to generate non-labour institution like informal land lease market.

The study aims to provide a comprehensive synthesis of FATE's evolution and the challenges and opportunities identified across the analyzed papers. The review encompasses 25 SCOPUS articles published between 2019 and 2023. FATE definitions were classified as either technical or descriptive, with some studies offering multiple definitions. Findings indicate a predominance of descriptive definitions, particularly for fairness, which are primarily quantitative. Ethics definitions are mostly qualitative, while fairness research tends to be quantitative. Future research could bridge the divide between experts and the public by integrating technical and descriptive definitions and combining qualitative and quantitative approaches.

The study uses a systematic literature review to look at studies and reports published from 1 January 2000 to 5 November 2022, to find out how people think and feel about women’s participation with regard to employment and leadership in terms of taking decisions in traditionally male-dominated sectors i.e., fishing, marine shipping, and blue economy tourism. The evaluation closes with recommendations for the compilation of baseline inventories to collect gender-disaggregated data to advise policy on which sectors hinder women’s participation as well as a new framework to create pathways for women’s holistic participation in India’s blue economy.

In India, the government and the private sector continue to place a high priority on green hotels because of their contribution to environmental preservation and a reduction in the effects of global warming. The implementation of the green hotel idea still raises both advantages and disadvantages due to certain onerous criteria for business actors. The majority of them believe that staying at a green hotel is expensive and uncomfortable for tourists. In spite of the fact that many tourists require green hotels, not all tourists are aware of this concept, particularly in India. This paper looks at studies on green hotels that have been carried out in other nations and relates with India. The case of India's Delhi shows how tourists can not completely grasp the idea of green hotels.

Due to urbanization, the volume of waste is speedily rising. If the origin of waste creation makes no effort, then all wastes are either disposed of or burnt which results in waste of land, air, water, and energy as well as the growth of undesirable animals, plants and microorganism. Through the associate and involvement of the local population, waste may be managed locally in a sustainable manner. Waste management may be an expensive endeavor if not carried out appropriately. In most of the developing nations, 20-50 percent of urban expenditure budget is directed at management of solid waste. Small hotels in Dehradun, the capital city of Uttrakhand, haven't made any attempts to address their waste-related environmental consequences, which has had a negative effect on the environment. In this paper, waste management practices of small hotels in capital city of Uttrakhand are investigated. Employees of small hotels were given a survey schedule to fill out in order to collect information about their waste management practices. The findings show that small hotels choose to dispose of their waste rather than recycle and reuse it.

Asian Journal of Multidimensional Research (AJMR), 2018

First, this sector has an increasing economic importance. Second, the tourist industry shows an increasingly higher environmental concern (Hunter, 1997). This paper investigates the Green Practices (GPs) among different categories of star hotels (three star to five star deluxe only) in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which includes both Hyderabad and Secunderabad of India. It aims to identify the level of stakeholders on GPs participation and whether GPs contribute to overall hotel performance. To achieve these objectives, stakeholder theory is selected as the theoretical basis to explicate the proposed hypothesis i.e. whether all stakeholders (government, activists, industry association, competitors, customers and top management) positively influence the green practices and whether hotels with GPs are able to drive towards better financial and non-financial performance. Data collection is carried out from 51 star hotels in the GHMC through questionnaire. A test on the hypothesis using the hierarchical regression supported the fact that stakeholder influence in the participation of GPs among GHMC star hotels are only at a moderate stage. This means that more than half of star hotels do not have written environmental policy and very few are certified to ISO-40001. It also means that except top management, activists, other stakeholders do not influence or influence in minimal in implementing green practices in star hotels.
