DAMSELS & DRAGONS: Basingstoke Canal & Beyond presented by Francis Kelly
As an SSSI, the Basingstoke Canal is a wonderful habitat for dragonflies and damselflies.
Francis will tell the story of photographing every species found in the UK, with a particular focus on those found on our canal.

What a wonderful day! So lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves in the sun by the Canal for our 60th Anniversary celebrations and the naming of our new electric trip boat, Kitty II.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this journey: the fundraising team, all the Kitty II donors, the Basingstoke Canal Society membership, the 60th Anniversary planning team, the environmental and community groups who supported us yesterday, the broad range of Society volunteers who enabled our Celebration event to run like clockwork and to everyone who came along to be part of a memorable day.

Following on from last weekends unexploded ordnance caught by an magnet fisher, we must remind everyone that magnet fishing is not permitted on the Basingstoke Canal under canal bylaws for this specific reason.

The lunchtime cruise this Wednesday (22nd) still has a few spaces, which leaves Odiham at 1.00pm returning around 3.30.
