Battle won: Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey blanks Yale, 8–0 | Quinnipiac Today
With a rivalry this heated, there was no doubt that the atmosphere at our M&T Bank Arena would be electric on Saturday night — and it was with fans beginning to line up more than eight hours before puck drop.
From the first goal to the eighth, the Bobcats never looked back.

The Ice Cats welcomed a sold-out crowd to the M&T Bank Arena at the start of the evening.
An honor guard presented the stars and stripes to kick off the biggest rivalry in college hockey. The Heroes Hat was also introduced and ultimately was awarded to the Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team after defeating Yale. The Heroes Hat honors the legacy of Joseph Mascali, a firefighter who died during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Three of his children earned degrees from Quinnipiac.
The Note-able, a student-led choir group, sang the national anthem.
Boomer energizes the fans minutes before puck drop.
The Hartford HealthCare starting line up included No. 22 Braden Blace, No. 7 Elliott Groenewold, No. 19 Ethan Wyttenbach, No. 20 Mason Marcellus, No 12. Markus Vidicek and No. 29 Dylan Silverstein.
A standing-room-only crowd filled the rink with a sea of white in "Beat Yale" shirts, donated by M&T Bank.
The team celebrated eight unanswered goals, showcasing their skill, determination and continued momentum.
President Marie Hardin and Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Rand Pecknold joined fans before the game.
Fans brought dozens of signs to share their Bobcat pride. From hand-made creations to merchandise from the new Quinnipiac bookstore, the whole crowd cheered decked out in blue, gold and white.
Ethan Wyttenbach finished the game with a hat trick, celebrating each goal with the fans.
The Bobcats extend an undefeated streak versus Yale at home, lasting more than a decade.
The student section was energized, helping fuel the No 5 nationally ranked men's ice hockey team to a decisive victory.
Quinnipiac ultimately blanked Yale, 8-0.
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team returns home on Saturday, February 14.
