The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This new, shorter phone number will make it easier for people to remember and access mental health crisis services. (Please note, the previous 1-800-273-TALK (8255) number will continue to function indefinitely.)

Biography
The AARP Foundation, Bayfield County Administration, and the IRS offer free tax preparation for low to medium income taxpayers. The program focuses, but is not limited to, those 60 and older from any county. Tax preparation is provided by IRS certified volunteers.
This is a walk-in site. Returns will be prepared on a first come, first serve basis. appointments for following weeks can be given in person at the site.
The volunteers are certified to file most returns. The following are out of scope returns that we will not prepare: married filing separately; military and international returns; part year WI resident; schedule C with expenses exceeding $5,000, depreciation or losses; rental property; complicated schedule D (usually Day Traders); and prior year amended returns.

Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRC) are no-cost, central sources of information and assistance for seniors (age 60+) and disabled adults, regardless of income. The ADRC of the North serves residents of Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Price, and Sawyer Counties. ADRC services are also available to family members, friends, caregivers, and professionals working with these populations. Services include Information & Assistance, Long-Term Care Options Counseling, Benefits Counseling, Memory Screens, and Vital and Health/Wellness Connections. ADRCs also serve as the entry-way to publicly funded long-term care programs. The IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct) Program is a Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver for self-directed long-term supports. The program is an option for adults with long term care needs. IRIS is available to Wisconsin residents determined financially eligible for Medicaid, functionally in need of nursing home or Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities level of care; and living in a county where managed long-term care and IRIS are available. For information on how to apply for the IRIS Program, contact your local ADRC.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a fellowship of people who come together to solve their drinking problem. It doesn’t cost anything to attend A.A. meetings. There are no age or education requirements to participate. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about their drinking problem.
