How does Points of Light use its funding?
Points of Light directs the majority of its funding toward program services that mobilize volunteers and strengthen communities.
Rather than
concentrating
resources internally, funding supports a distributed impact model that invests in local nonprofits, volunteer centers, and community partners around the world. Resources are used to build capacity, deliver training, fund service initiatives, and activate employees through corporate and community partnerships.
What types of consulting services do you offer?
We provide consulting to help companies design,
strengthen
and scale employee volunteering. Our work includes growing participation, volunteer time off policy support, skills-based and pro bono volunteer programs, volunteer ambassador frameworks, benchmarking, volunteer recognition and grant programs, strategies to engage hourly and retail employees and more.
Do you only run volunteer events, or can you help with strategy too?
Both. Many companies engage us first for consulting and program design, then extend into ongoing employee activations and events, where we fully manage volunteer events for your team members around the world.
Can you support global offices and remote employees?
Yes. Through the Points of Light Global Network and thousands of community partners, we design in-person, virtual and hybrid opportunities that work across locations and time zones.
How do you measure and report on impact?
We co-define success metrics with you, then provide post-event and program-level summaries that include participation rates, volunteer hours, stories of impact and community outcomes.
Is Points of Light a platform?
We are not a technology platform, but rather a
nonprofit partner
with deep expertise in corporate social impact.
Our team works alongside your existing platform(s) to bring your initiatives to life, providing wrap-around services like program design, local expertise, community partner connections, and on-the-ground activation. And if you need support evaluating or standing up a platform, we can help there too.
