Biography
Courtney Anderson, J.D., LL.M., is the dean and law professor at Georgia State University College of Law. Before she was appointed dean, she served as interim dean, and associate dean for Academic Affairs from March 2023 to June 30, 2024.
Her legal experience is in transactional law, community, and economic development.
Dean Anderson is dedicated to engaging College of Law alumni and supporters of the law school in key areas of students’ academic and professional success. Showcasing the important research and scholarship of College of Law faculty members and demonstrating the impact this research has on legislation, advocacy and the trajectory of our community is a top priority.
Anderson’s research is focused on preserving affordable housing and eradicating preventable socioeconomic determinants that exacerbate health issues.
She was a clinical fellow with the Harrison Institute for Affordable Housing and Community Development Clinic at Georgetown University Law Center, where she represented low-income tenant associations in purchasing and rehabilitating multifamily housing units. Prior to joining the Harrison Institute, Anderson worked in the real estate group at Sidley Austin LLP, where her practice had an emphasis on corporate and financing transactions.
Anderson received an LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center in 2012. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 2006, and
summa cum laude
from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003.
