Aloha and Welcome to the Official Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) Website, formerly known as Honolulu International Airport
The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) is the largest airport in the State of Hawaii and is located in Honolulu on the island of O’ahu. From Honolulu you can fly to neighbor island airports including Kahului Airport, Kapalua Airport and Hana Airport on Maui; Lihu’e Airport on Kaua’i; Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole, Hilo International Airport and Waimea-Kohala Airport on the island of Hawai’i; Lana’i Airport on Lana’i; and Molokai Airport and Kalaupapa Airport on Molokai.
There are non-stop departures from HNL to cities such as (but not limited to), Anchorage, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Guam, Haneda, Houston, Kansai, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manila, Melbourne, Nagoya, Narita, Newark, New York, Oakland, Pago Pago, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle-Tacoma, Seoul, Sydney and Vancouver.

What’s New
Paving of Taxiway G April 6-16
April 6, 2026 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises travelers of daily construction to repave Taxiway G between Gate B-5 and Gate A-16. Closures for the paving will begin at 10:00p.m. Monday, April 6 and end at 5:00 a.m. the following day. Daily closures will continue from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. starting Tuesday, April 7, with the final closure scheduled to be completed by 4:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16.
Hawai'i Airports Remain Open and Operational
March 20, 2026 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) is aware of national news stories reporting that small airports nationwide may close or pause operations due to the partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security and funding of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). HDOT is reassuring the public that all Hawai‘i airports are being staffed and will remain open and operational.
Travel Advisory for Hawai‘i Airports
March 11, 2026 – Travel Advisory – Due to the severe weather conditions statewide, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises travelers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure time for transpacific flights and at least 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure time for interisland flights. Travelers should check with their airline on the status of their flight before heading to the airport.
Electric Trams to Wiki Wiki Shuttle Service
February 13, 2026 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation is adding three new electric transit trams to its Wiki Wiki Shuttle service. The trams will transport domestic passengers between the gates and terminals and augment the airport's free Wiki Wiki bus service.
International Shoppes New Concessionaire
February 10, 2026 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) has selected and welcomes International Shoppes (iShoppes), to provide retail and in-bond duty free concessions.
Electric Buses Start Service as HNL Rental Car Shuttles
December 17, 2025 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) proudly announces four new battery electric buses started service as shuttles to the Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC).
Waialua Bar & Cafe Opens
December 15, 2025 – The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) and its food and beverage concessionaire partner HMSHost celebrated the grand opening Wailua Bar & Cafe in Terminal 1.
Ground Transportation Modifications at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport as Skyline Launches Service
October 14, 2025 – In coordination with the scheduled Oct. 16 launch of the second segment of the city’s Skyline rail service, which includes a station at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) announces modifications to the airport’s ground transportation operations.
