Is anyone in particular "in charge" of the Lower Sorbian test Wikipedia? I'd be interested to know how many articles there already are in Lower Sorbian. The figure given is clearly for all of Meta, not for Lower Sorbian specifically. --

There are about 3 or 5 articles already in Lower Sorbian as well. But I think, it could grow nearly as fast as Upper Sorbian - if you have a look at the fact, that quite the same persons are writing the articles

I think that it´s time to separate dsb and hsb Test-Wikipedias definitly and start to vote about regular hsb and dsb Wikipedias. On the
List of Wikipedias
are Wikipedias with less articles than hsb and dsb. It´s a pity to work on Test-Wikipedia if you are ready to start regular one. --

I think you are ready! Problem could be only the fact that someone who does not speak dolnoserbski and gornoserbski will not understad in which language is article under "wen", so it is good idea to classify them. Good luck./Hodně štěstí.

Es sollten die sorbischen Bezeichnungen überspielt werden. Die niedersorbischen waren aber entgegen dem allgemeinen Usus mit kleinem Anfangsbuchstaben. Durch einen Bug in der Mediawiki-Software funktioniert der ganze technische Kram aber nur mit großen Anfangsbuchstaben. Die Bezeichungen sind jetzt mit großen Anfangsbuchstaben. Die Änderungen müssen aber jetzt noch überspielt und die Wikipedia anschließend aktualisiert werden. Das kann wieder ein paar Tage dauern. Aber nun ist erst einmal wieder alles deutsch und funktioniert erst mal wieder. --

Noch ein Tip, Johannes: Wenn du ein großes Bild einfügst, gib das Wort thumb und eine Pixel angabe mit an, damit du nicht das riesige Bild einfügst, z. B.:

Außerdem kannst du noch left, right oder center angeben, um das Bild horizontal zu positionieren. --

Ich habe jetzt
SPQRobin
eine Nachricht auf Betawiki hinterlassen. Er hat den Import gemacht. Namensräume und Aliase hat er auch nicht importiert. Das habe ich veranlasst, das ist aber gestern schief gelaufen, da hat einer, warum auch immer, stattdessen die obersorbischen eingespielt. Heute sind die richtigen niedersorbischen eingespielt worden, nun müssen wir aber noch auf ein Wikimedia-Update warten, damit es hier in der Wikipedia auch zum Tragen kommt. Ich hatte gefragt, wie oft so ein Update gemacht wird, da hat mich Siebrand auf die Seite für die
Einspielaufträge
verwiesen. Dort steht, es kann zwischen wenigen Stunden und wenigen Wochen! dauern. Wenige Stunden sind schon vorbei. Na mal sehen. --

Da sind die Detailinformationen, das wissen wir. Aber der Fehler scheint der gleiche zu sein: Auch da werden nur 115 Inhaltsseiten genannt. Das entspricht dem magischen Wort
{{NUMBEROFARTICLES}}
. Im Incubator waren aber schon ungefähr 350 Artikel bereits auf der Hauptseite genannt. Ich glaube nicht, dass jemand das magische Wort nach dem Import geändert hat. Aber man könnte ja die 894 nehmen, das ist

Hello Wikimedians,
As many of you are aware, we are now two months away from the Fundraiser for the Wikimedia Foundation, 2010. We have lofty goals, and we can meet them and exceed them!
The meta translators are already actively engaged in the annual drive to distribute our messages and we encourage you to do the same, but we would like to point everyone to the developments we've made in banner messages- from creation to commentary to the ones that will go live for test and for the drive itself in November. It's one of our goals to make sure that all volunteers know that there is a place for them in the Fundraising drive. We've started the setup on
meta
for both
banner submission
statistical analysis
, and
grouping volunteers together
that would like to find specific focus and work in that area.
This year the Wikimedia Foundation is taking a proactive stance in reaching out to each and every Wikimedia project and volunteer to find innovation, collaboration, and collation of ideas from the community driven process. The staff working on this is comprised of long-time Wikimedians with as much care and concern for the success of this drive as the volunteers, and we want you to actively participate and have a voice.
Use the talk pages on meta, talk to your local communities, talk to others, talk to us. Engagement is what we strive for, without each other we would never had made Wikimedia succeed. Everyone is welcome to contact any of us on staff at any time with a timely response to follow. We actively encourage focusing discussion on meta so we can all work together.

we want you to beat Jimmy
. The appeal from Jimmy Wales and the corresponding banner have been tested head-to-head with other successful banners, and the results are clear: it's our best performing message... by a lot. This year we have a lofty fundraising goal; we need all of our banners to bring in donations like the Jimmy Appeal, but no one wants to keep the Jimmy banner up for two months. We want to run donor quotes, and other wonderful ideas, but we have to have banners that work as well as or better than the Jimmy appeal.
We've just released the highlights from a
donor focus group
, and the results of our
donor survey
. With one month to the launch of the fundraiser, the messages we test must be driven by data from our tests and surveys - we can no longer rely on instinct alone.

Guten Tag, es tut mir leid, dass ich auf Deutsch schreibe, ich kann leider kein Niedersorbisch, nur Hochdeutsch und Plattdeutsch. Ich hoffe, ihr nehmt es mir nicht übel. Mein Anliegen ist folgendes: Ich studiere Linguistik in Bremen und besuche gerade ein Seminar zum Thema Sprachenausbau und wollte als Abschlussreferat etwas über Wikipedias Beitrag zum Sprachenausbau von Ausbausprachen halten. Sprachenausbau ist ein Vorgang, bei dem eine Sprache quasi modernisiert wird, der Wortschatz quasi erweitert wird durch moderne Begriffe und Ideen. Daher wollte ich bei ausbauenden Sprachen anfragen, was die User 1. darüber denken, welchen Beitrag die Wikipedia zu ihrer eigenen Sprache, also hier die niedersorbische Sprache, inne hat und 2. wie und nach welchen Kriterien ihr versucht, neue Wörter zu schaffen. (Könntet ihr mir auch mitteilen, ob ihr hier eine Seite habt, auf der ihr solche Neuschöpfungen diskutiert?) Ich würde mich echt freuen, wenn sich hier einige Meinungen und Antworten sammeln würden. Leider habe ich von der Bearbeitung von SVG-Grafiken auch nicht viel Ahnung. Außerdem bin ich zur Zeit mit der Korrektur von Artikeln in der Esperantowikipedia beschäftigt. Das dauert leider nocht etwas, weil die betreffende Vorlage
