Later, the environmental impact of leather processing is elaborated along with the breakdown of the assessment tools. To sustain the leather demand and face the challenges posed by it, the agenda proposed by the research conglomerates and affiliated authorities, designer activism strategies for promoting recyclability of leather and measures to advocate second life for virgin leather products, alternative leather material initiatives and new technology options were investigated through case study analysis. This investigation identifies the possible affirmations concerning the direct role of designer activism in promoting sustainable leather product designs. This study concludes circular design options for leather processing using vegetable tanning methods and promotes the use of biodegradable leather material alternatives.

Retail buying plan includes sales forecast process by analyzing the factors affecting it namely aggregation of sales and exogenous variables. The conventional buying plan is centered around a common customer profile. However, in the future, we need a generation specific buying plan catering to their specific design expectations. In this study propose a new replenishment strategy formulated for Gen Z customers. The new buying plan strategy weighs the recent trends and prevailing sales scenarios to forecast the replenishment quantity and re-order point. The evolved strategy carries its references to sales history data, trends, aggregation of data for the product topology, especially for Gen Z customers.

Ethnic style is influenced by factors such as availability of a wide variety of materials, production methods, popular designers, organizations, cross cultural influences, innovations, and sustainable practices. Ethnic styles have evolved geographically around Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Latin and Central America, North America, and Europe. Acculturation has helped in not only westernization of clothing but also produces cultural diversity and heterogeneity. Availability of sustainable raw materials (natural fibers, natural dyes, recycled materials) combined with sustainable manufacturing/chemical processing/surface embellishments (use of resist bases, hand painting, itkat, batik, bandhi, natural dyes, and effluent treatments) have added value to ethnic styles. Artisanality combined with the creativity of the designers and involvement of organizations such as Abury champions have created a platform for the evolution of sustainable ethnic styles. Generational changes (Generation X and Generation Z) can be seen as a positive influence and ethnic styles avail themselves a great chance to co-exist with modern fashion concepts.

In order to identify the movement fit design characteristics that specify the state of mechanical movement comfort for bicycle shorts used in indoor fit regimens and weight loss training, the pattern of interaction between the clothing and human body determined by 2D pattern proportions and fabric 's stretch property is examined. The study was performed in the scope of bio-mechanical movement comfort, a branch of ergonomics by observing stretch deformation and shear deformation during wear. In the context of the ergonomic view point, the study was carried out by verifying the compression pressure imparted by the clothing and analyzing the nature of stretch deformation across waist hip regions of human body. The role of fabric stretch property and concept of 2D pattern suppression that facilitates ideal mechanical fit design characteristics was ascertained through the analysis. Further the concept of pattern suppression’s influence in achieving more uniform compression pressure distribution is also concluded.

To understand the nature of interface between ease reduction treatments and structural constructs, three-dimensional (3D) modeling of human body using body mapping concept and ease reduction treatment’s role in explaining the garment strain patterns in cling fit conditions were investigated. We report the impact of ease reduction treatment that defines the proportions and measurements of the cling fit pattern with reference to human body surface profile.

Sustainability aspects encompassing the following: the savings through the use of dyed yarns, zero waste manufacturing approach through elimination of cutting process, lesser use of energy in product development are elaborated through case study approach. The versatility of flat knitted fully fashioned garments across a wide range of product applications is summed up with reference to the existing machinery and technology at disposal through secondary research of the available literature. The study highlights the innovations rendered in flat knitting machines, the scope of designing patterns and the raw material requirements of fully fashioned knitted garments while rendering a tailored design profile. The surface design manipulability by varying the stitch tension has also been reported. The significance of fully fashioned knitwear in promoting sustainable design practice is elaborated and its relevance to different product applications has been ascertained.

Understanding premises and the artefacts shall provide a clear view of their strengths and limitations that shall help us to improve their application in above stated domains. We explore the existing research projects that have contributed to the evolution and advancement of 3D Human body modeling, 3D garment design presentation and virtual fit modeling. Further we examine the generalizations supporting the scope and reliability of AI tools in the above mentioned contexts to deduce the constructive archetypes supporting them. The isometric projection depicting the planar surface curvature and discriminative semantic features of the human body are artefact of 3D Human body modeling. Meanwhile symmetricity and orthogonality of polygons are primary artefact of surface development methods employed to produce them when it came to 3D garment design and presentation. Irrespective of the tools used: Neural networks, Bayes classifiers and Decision trees in virtual fit modulation, the prime artefact describing the inherent nature of virtual fit model construction is digital pressure references to classify the fit levels. In information systems design science and management, interpreting the artifact nature and properties paves the way for establishing the reliability of the AI tools in 3D human modeling, 3D garment design presentation and virtual fit modeling. It also helps to transcend our understanding of the technical aspects to a new level besides augmenting the real time work functions efficiently.

Fashion is just not an ambitious projected image of a reinterpreted good old value to fulfill some function or agenda alike but rather a evocative and refreshing concept worthy enough to be portrayed for society's appreciation that makes us even more instinctive. In the society, the individual's appearance is the ticket to transmit non verbal communication signals such as possible cues about his / her social stature, values and lifestyle.
