An underground experience like no other
Embark on a mesmerizing Dudley Tunnel Trip and witness the marvel of engineering that is the Dudley Tunnel, the second longest navigable canal tunnel in the UK. But the adventure doesn’t stop there – immerse yourself in the traditions of the past as you try your hand at “Legging,” the age-old method used by boatmen to navigate these tunnels. Your journey takes you through the entire Dudley Tunnel, starting from the Tipton Portal (our main site) and extending to the Parkhead Portal. Explore the labyrinthine caverns and tunnels that once bore witness to industrial history, including the legendary Singing Cavern. This unforgettable trip blends history, hands-on experiences, and the enchanting echoes of the past, making it a journey through time you won’t want to miss.
The boat departs at 10am promptly, so please arrive no less than 15 minutes before to ensure you have time to board.

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR JOURNEY MORE ENJOYABLE
Bring a cushion – though you can stand up and move around its always nice to have a comfortable seat.
Bring a camera – this trip takes you through an amazing built landscape rich with heritage, engineering feats in canal building and historic detail.
Due to the boat layout we cannot guarantee specific seats but we will do our best to try to seat your party together.  If you are a larger group arrive early for first boarding.
