Executive Areas
Agency Heads
Agencies are government bodies that specialize in particular student needs on campus and within student government, such as voting, sustainability, and student entertainment. Each agency has its own staff, structure, and procedure for its specific focus area. They are supervised by the Student Body President. Every spring semester, agency heads apply and are selected by the executive branch to run the daily operations of each agency. Then, they are approved by the legislative branch before assuming their positions for the coming year.

ACCENT Speakers Bureau is the largest student-run speakers bureau in the nation. It has been part of campus for over 40 years and has provided the University of Florida with a plethora of big names, including past Presidents, Prime Ministers, media moguls, business leaders and sports legends. ACCENT strives to educate the student body, outside of the classroom, on current hot topics and controversies by bringing influential, insightful, and sometimes controversial speakers to the university. ACCENT sponsors many of its own shows, but also co-sponsors with many student groups. This position is also responsible for administering the “Let Students Choose” program, which allows students to vote on potential acts for future semesters.

Action SG is an agency of Student Government whose purpose is threefold: to coordinate with the Student Body President the execution of the executive agenda as it relates to the campus community, to facilitate the relationship of Student Government and campus stakeholders through outreach, and to promote the activities of Student Government and Student Government affiliates through multimedia outlets.
Bridges Multicultural Outreach Program

The Bridges Multicultural Outreach Program is an agency whose mission is to prepare the next generation of racial minority scholars in the state of Florida to be competitive applicants in UF’s application process. The program is designed to work with high school students from various underrepresented backgrounds by enrolling them in a semester-long program that entails application readiness workshops/webinars, a comprehensive mentorship program, and a large-scale visitation program where each scholar will get the opportunity to experience “A day in the life of a UF college student.”

Class Councils are a representative body which strives to serve and unite the University of Florida and to enhance traditions for the continual improvement of the Gator Nation. Class Councils will host various programmatic events in an effort to build community and pride amongst the various graduating classes. Through pairing with the Alumni Association, the Class Councils will work to increase the value of your degree and build lifelong UF traditions along the way.
External Affairs

External Affairs is charged with representing student opinions and views on key legislative priorities at the local, state, and federal level. These issues are identified and tracked on a daily basis to protect and provide a vital student voice in higher education issues. At the local level, this position ensures student representation downtown on city boards and committees. Much of the state lobby focus is placed on tuition, financial aid, and credit hour issues. Each year, External Affairs Agency sets legislative priorities before the Legislature begins session in the spring. Federally, External Affairs Agency represents students on federal financial aid issues, specifically advocating for increases in the most popular form of federal aid, the Pell Grant.

Gator Innovators was created with the idea that we, as students, can collaborate to foster the startup, innovation and entrepreneurship communities here in Gainesville. They have many facets to help students out by saving them money, providing them the resources to create and start a business, connecting students to internships, hosting startup competitions and many more exciting programs. They believe that students here at the University of Florida should collaborate among each and other and among our peers at other Universities around the nation. They are actively working to create partnerships with other major Universities in order to expand our network of contacts and resources for students to pull from.

Gender and Sexuality Protection Agency (GASP)

The Gender and Sexuality Protection Agency (GASP) within the Student Government at the University of Florida is committed to safeguarding and advancing equality for all genders and sexualities on campus. Acknowledging the prevalent inequalities in society regarding gender and sexuality, GASP endeavors to address them through education and fostering empathy. Central to GASP's vision is cultivating relationships and the mutual understanding of diverse perspectives among students. Through organizing events and campus initiatives, GASP serves as a platform for students to educate themselves about the repercussions of gender and sexuality-based discrimination and actively participate in combatting it.
Nightlife Navigators

Nightlife Navigators is a Student Government agency dedicated to the promotion of safety on the University of Florida campus and surrounding Gainesville area. From the UF Mobile Safety App, to informing students about safe nighttime transportation options, and coordinating with the University of Florida Police Department, Nightlife Navigators constantly strives to improve safety and awareness for the students at the University of Florida. This director shall serve at the discretion of the Student Body President and Executive Committee to partner with the Gainesville community and businesses to provide solutions to keep students safe.

Student Civic and Honor Agency (SCHA)

The Student Civic and Honor Agency shall be an agency of Student Government whose purpose is to educate students on civic engagement and the UF Honor Code. The agency shall provide resources for students to learn about University of Florida codes. The Student Civic and Honor Agency shall provide the students of the University of Florida with the opportunities to update their voter information and encourage students to vote. All of these duties shall be performed in a non-partisan and legal way as defined by the State of Florida Statutes.

The Student Government Accountability Agency (SGAA) plays a critical role in fostering a culture of accountability and transparency within Student Government. The job of the Student Government Accountability Agency is to conduct holistic reviews of Student Government operations, spending, and events. SGAA additionally provides recommendations for improvement to the Student Body President to ensure that Student Government is working effectively and efficiently. Through its operations, SGAA identifies areas where Student Government’s operations can be enhanced or streamlined to better serve the needs of the student body.

The Student Government Institute (SGI) at the University of Florida is a Student Government leadership conference geared toward universities in the Southeast. Each year, schools are invited to attend the conference during the summer semester where they can send Student Government representation for an all-encompassing conference that will help promote leadership and teach other useful information to new SG administration. Interactive workshops and seminars are planned to allow the participants to improve their leadership theory and experiences. In addition to presentations by various UF students and administrators, students will have to opportunity to engage in several team-building and learning activities designed to challenge each student’s leadership skills and allow them to bring these skills back to their areas.

Student Government Productions (SGP) provides a diverse array of popular entertainment to students for free or at a reduced cost. Performer selection is based on the concert dates, which are determined around the UF academic calendar and other student-focused events on campus. Students Taking Action Against Racism is an agency of Student Government dedicated to the improvement of race relations on the University of Florida campus. STAAR recognizes the existence of racial inequality within society and attempts to combat it through the spread of education and empathy. The vision of STAAR is strongly based on the importance of building relationships and subsequently growing to understand the perspective of fellow students. Using events and campus based initiatives, STAAR acts as a means for all students to learn about the effects of racism and become directly involved in standing against it.

The Big Event is a huge day of service created for the student body to serve the Gainesville community. The agency promotes the value of doing things for the “Gator Good” by giving them an opportunity to say thank you to the Gainesville community for allowing the University of Florida student body to be a part of the Gainesville family. The Big Event consists of a full day of service and other activities to help build a better and closer connected Gainesville as well as provide one big statement of our gratitude.

Young Leaders Conference

The Young Leaders Conference is a 3-day conference hosted on campus at the University of Florida for high school students. Students are led through a variety of leadership workshops and provided a unique opportunity to engage with UF students and campus. Students also participate in bonding activities, a campus tour, and more! YLC strives to instill the tenets of leadership into high school students and continue to promote their personal and professional development.

The Executive Secretaries serve as liasions between the Student Body President and different aspects of campus as well as Gainesville community. The 13 secretaries are selected by the Student Body President each Spring and confirmed by the Student Senate for the following year. The secretaries serve as both advocates for communities on campus and outreach specialist with Student Government. The positions change periodically as the needs of students evolve over the years at the University of Florida.

The Affordability affairs Executive Secretary works to make sure the Student Body President is up to date on all the different fees that are associated with attending the University of Florida. From this information, policies and initiatives can be made to ensure students are receiving the most from their tuition dollars and that they can be financially secure during their time in college.
Athletics and Recreation

The Athletics & Recreation Secretary works with the UAA on all student issues with athletic events at UF, including, but not limited to, everything related to the student Athletic Fee. In addition, this position works with Recreational Sports on all student issues related to intramural sports and sports clubs. It will also create and spearhead any services related to Athletics where students would see benefit. This individual is also responsible for maintaining an active relationship with all areas of recreational life for students such as Lake Wauburg, Recreational Sports, and the Reitz Union. Any issues facing students with these facilities will be under the direct responsibility of this secretary. This position should attend all relevant meetings, such as, Reitz Union Board and Recreational Sports Board, and keep the administration informed on all on-goings.

Health Affairs

The Health Affairs Secretary is responsible for reporting on all health related matters on campus, and making sure the student body stays up to speed on current health-related issues in the community. This secretary should actively seek to find areas of improvement needed to the health of the overall student body, and use policy and actions to advance the health and knowledge of those on campus. In addition, the individual will also be in charge of the working with the Senior Vice President to set the student health insurance policy and sit on the health insurance board. It will be through these outlets that this secretary is able to report to the Student Body President on all pertinent health issues facing UF.

The Satellite Affairs Secretary informs the executive branch of the needs of students at all Satellite Campuses and UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) Extension locations. This individual also provides these students with information about upcoming Student Government events and any new services that may be provided to them in the future. This individual also works to coordinate outreach to each of the Extensions in all 67 Florida counties.

The Special Projects Advisor works in the development of specific campus projects. These projects are typically on a scale that cannot be addressed through typical Student Government allocations. This individual works closely with local and national businesses in order to secure these programs. This advisor maintains an active database of vendors who work with UF Student Government for student organizations. In addition, this individual is responsible for growing SG’s relationships with new vendors and communicating with any new potential partners.

Cabinet is organized into four main divisions—Diversity, Leadership Development, Student Life, and Transition—each focused on a unique aspect of the student experience. Within these divisions are six individual cabinets, each led by a director. These directors oversee cabinets dedicated to specific focus areas, working collaboratively to plan events, provide resources, and build support systems that promote student engagement, foster inclusivity, strengthen community ties, and support academic, social, and personal growth at the University of Florida.

The Chairs guide cabinet directors in developing inclusive programming that addresses the specific needs of underrepresented and transitional student populations, such as PACE, Innovation Academy, first-generation, transfer, graduate, and out-of-state students. The Health and
