Regional Policy Plan
The Regional Policy Plan serves as a blueprint for Cape Cod's future, outlining strategies to direct growth to appropriate locations, protect natural resources, and promote economic resilience. Since the first edition in 1991, the RPP has undergone several updates, including major revisions in 2009 and 2018. The 2025 Regional Policy Plan was approved by the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and adopted by the Barnstable County Commissioners as a county ordinance on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Vision Zero Action Plan
Vision Zero is an effort to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries on Cape Cod's roadways. The Cape Cod Vision Zero Action Plan, a pathway to a safer future, includes a systematic crash analysis and set of solutions to tackle the root causes of all crashes, emphasizing those involving bicyclists, pedestrians, and other non-motorists. The Cape Cod Commission developed the Vision Zero Action Plan for Cape Cod through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program, an initiative designed to improve road safety and address traffic fatalities nationwide.
