When using the
GlobalProtect VPN system
, UNL library users will need to take additional steps to access e-journals and other licensed online resources.
There are three ways to access UNL Libraries online resources from off-campus.
Option 1: Use the
UNL Libraries catalog
or
A-Z list.
You can search the
catalog
for a particular journal, ebook, or article title.
You can use the
A-Z list
to access resources by database or publisher platform.
Option 2: Rewrite the link to include UNL’s proxy prefix.
This will provide full-text access to materials the UNL Libraries subscribe to.
There are two ways to do this:
In your browser's URL/search bar, manually add
at the start of the link you are trying to access. (for example,

Install the
UNL proxy bookmarklet
, which will rewrite links for you with a single click.
Option 3: Install the
LibKey Nomad
browser extension.
Once you set up the app on your browser, it will show an icon whenever full-text access to an item is available through the UNL Libraries.
