As with all things, our costs have increased. This has resulted in fewer dollars to meet our traditional operating needs. Your extra support will help. Please consider becoming a Sustaining Member with a donation of $50 or more in addition to any dues.

Types of Membership
Student Combined ALA/AkLA
– Students who are currently enrolled at a college or university and pursuing library science degrees can join the American Library Association and the Alaska Library Association for one low price of $46. This is a great opportunity for students to try out each organization.
Personal – Persons employed in a library in Alaska. Personal Membership
Associate – Volunteers, students, trustees, friends, retired persons and others not actively employed.
Institutional – Libraries or agencies which have libraries.
Commercial – Vendors or firms which support libraries.
Honorary – Lifetime membership awarded by the organization for outstanding service.
Sustaining – All member types can become sustaining members by adding a donation of $50 or more.
