NAGT membership is available in the following types with 1 and 3 year terms. Members may also enroll in automatic annual renewal.
Regular Member
- 1 year: US$ 85.00 | 3 years: US$ 255.00
Full-time 2-year and 4-year college and university faculty, geoscience professionals, informal educators, and other individuals
Sustaining Member
- 1 year: US$ 120.00 | 3 years: US$ 360.00
Regular Member dues plus a yearly US$ 35.00 donation to the NAGT Professional Development Fund
Adjunct Member
- 1 year: US$ 55.00 | 3 years: US$ 165.00

All memberships include online access to the Journal of Geoscience Education (JGE) and In the Trenches (ITT). There is an additional cost of US$ 35.00 per year for members who wish to receive print copies of JGE.

What do member dues support?
Member dues make up 20-30% of our income and support NAGT's programming and staff in order to help us achieve our
mission and goals
. Specifically, member dues support:
Management of the
Teach the Earth
portal for freely available Earth education resources and peer review of those resources;
The development and offering of
professional learning opportunities
like free webinars and workshops at meetings;
Publication of the members-only journal
In the Trenches
Our
presence at conferences
like the Geological Society of America Connects meeting;
Regional section
and
topical division
activities;
Planning and offering the biennial
Earth Educators' Rendezvous
Partnerships and affiliations
with organizations like AGI, USEA, and NCSE;
Our ability to offer new programming that meets the needs of our members.
The rest of our operating income comes from donations, income from endowed funds, revenue from professional development, and revenue from sales of publications.
