Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten marks an exciting transition in a child’s life. You can make your child’s transition more successful by
registering for kindergarten several months before school starts
– ideally the previous winter or spring.
Why register early for kindergarten?
The sooner you register your child for kindergarten, the sooner you will connect with your child’s school, teachers and other families. You’ll also start receiving important information from the school team to:
Help you better prepare your child for the transition to kindergarten
Alert you to opportunities for additional support such as child care
It's vital that schools know how many kindergarteners they will welcome well before the school year starts, so they can assign the right number of high-quality teachers, aides and classrooms to support those children.
For children with special needs, it’s even more important to register early to ensure schools are ready to provide extra support on day one.

Kindergarten Inclusion Community Transition Support & Cohort (KIC)
, a partnership between NW Disability Support, Early Learning Hub of Clackamas County and Clackamas ESD offering community, resources and tools for parents of children beginning their transition to elementary school.
