Our Learn to Skate program is open to the public and emphasizes building confidence on the ice in a supportive environment. Children will progress from their first steps to learning how to turn, stop, and skate backwards.
This program is
not
intended for experienced skaters seeking advanced instruction.
Who Can Join?
Children ages 4 and up
Skaters with little or no prior skating experience
Program is open to the public — no Rumsey affiliation required
Program Details
Led by
: Rumsey Hall hockey coaches and student-athletes
Location
: Lufkin Rink, Rumsey Hall School, Washington, CT
Lesson Length
: One 45-minute session each week
Time
: Sundays, 12:00–12:45 p.m. (see schedule below)
Cost
: $200

What You’ll Need
Required
: Helmet (hockey-style with cage) and skates
Recommended
: Gloves (winter or hockey), elbow and knee pads
