2024 Impact
Every red dot represents a person—a neighbor, a coworker, a family member—who turned to Legal Aid of North Carolina for help in 2024 and found it.
Building Stronger Communities
At Legal Aid of North Carolina, we believe that justice is the foundation of every strong community. By standing alongside those who face barriers to housing, safety, education, and economic stability, we help families stay in their homes, survivors break free from violence, and workers secure fair treatment. Every case we handle is more than a legal issue—it’s a chance to help a neighbor reclaim dignity and hope. Together, we’re building communities where everyone can thrive, because justice for one is justice for all.

How we help
Legal Aid of North Carolina is the nonprofit law firm for the state, providing free legal assistance to those who need it most—because everyone deserves representation when their home, health, or livelihood is at risk.
Since 2020, demand for our services has surged, underscoring the urgent need for civil legal representation in every city and town across North Carolina.
Our team of attorneys, paralegals, social workers, staff, and pro bono volunteers aid children, victims of human trafficking, survivors of domestic violence, seniors, veterans, and other vulnerable individuals. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to increase our capacity and provide even more support to those who need it most.
Help ensure that equal justice under the law remains a right, not a privilege. Stand with Legal Aid NC today.
