State-Aided Public Housing in Massachusetts
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts offers a centralized way to apply for state-aided public housing through
CHAMP
(Common Housing Application for Massachusetts Programs). With CHAMP, you can use a single online application to apply to multiple state-aided housing programs across various local housing authorities.
CHAMP is a state-run system used to apply for state-funded public housing programs in Massachusetts. Applications submitted through Mass.AffordableHousing.com, including the Section 8 Centralized Waiting List, are not connected to CHAMP and cannot be used to apply for state-funded housing. While some of the same Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) administer both types of programs, you must maintain your CHAMP application separately from your application on Mass.AffordableHousing.com.
Click here to visit the CHAMP website.
