It was a gratifying yet somewhat sad day at
Sewickley Academy
On Jan. 20, the basketball court in the Means Alumni Gymnasium and Events Center was dedicated and named for Win Palmer during Spirit Day.
A local basketball court was dedicated to one of Sewickley Academy's former coaches, Win Palmer.
The local private school celebrated its most recent Spirit Day by dedicating its basketball court to former coach and athletic director Win Palmer, who died in August 2023. In addition to the new dedication, a new Win Palmer Excellence Fund has been created to provide scholarships to students at the school.

Options Abound for Unique Kids' Camps
Sewickley Academy’s Summer Programs offer a robust variety of enriching and impactful programs through visual and performing arts, technology, athletics and academics. The programs run for seven weeks throughout the summer, including half and full-day options.
The half-day programs are offered at $235 for students in Pre-K through fifth grade, $335 for middle and senior school students and $1,200 for senior school credit courses.
“We sincerely hope the children will foster their creativity and imagination, challenge their minds and expand their knowledge,” said Delaney Beaver, director of summer and after school programs at Sewickley Academy. “And most importantly, we encourage the students to cherish the moments that they make with their friends and instructors.”

Senior 3-Sport Standout leads young Sewickley Academy girls basketball roster
Libby Eannarino is a preeminent three-sport standout at Sewickley Academy. She is a senior guard in basketball and a midfielder in lacrosse and soccer. SA’s second-year hoops coach Jill Capozzi sees big things for the 5-foot-9 Eannarino on the basketball floor in 2023-24.
Sewickley Academy girls tennis season highlighted by section title, state playoff berth
Sewickley Academy had little difficulty defeating District 5 champion Bedford in the first round of the PIAA Class 2A girls tennis playoffs.
The Panthers, coached by the legendary Whitney Snyder, won by a 4-1 margin.
Sewickley Academy girls soccer makes playoffs with young roster, looks to bright future
The Sewickley Academy girls soccer team landed in the WPIAL playoffs once again in 2023. Coached by Dale Giovengo, Sewickley posted a 6-4 record in Section 3-A to end up third. The Panthers received the No. 11 seed for the postseason.
New Trustees and Chair Appointed to Sewickley Academy Board
Sewickley Academy elected a new chair of the board of trustees, along with three additional trustees: Dennis Zeitler as chair and Jane Kirkland, Roberto Ortiz and Stephanie Sciullo as new members.
