Attention: S-NPP JPSS Users! (3/17/2026)
The S-NPP issue that occurred on March 9, 2026 has been resolved. JPSS Operations recovered the S-NPP spacecraft to a nominal state on March 12th, 2026 at 17:17 UTC. Cal/Val teams have confirmed that all S-NPP Science products are meeting mission specifications and are ready for operational use, effective 19:30 UTC on March 16, 2026.
CLASS has set the new S-NPP data ingested as available and will set the data ingested back to 19:30 UTC on March 16. The data will not be back filled to March 9, 2026.

Attention: S-NPP CrIS instrument at the end of operational use! (2/17/2026)
The CrIS instrument on board the S-NPP satellite is at the end of its operational use as of 2/11/26. Engineers were unable to restore the instrument to operational state following the Scene Selection Module (SSM) anomaly that occurred on 12/23/2025. S-NPP is currently tertiary and operating beyond its design life.

Attention JPSS Users! (11/13/2025)
On November 11th 2025 at 11:29 UTC, the S-NPP VIIRS instrument experienced an anomaly with the rotating telescope assembly. Engineers were able to restore the instrument to an operational state by November 12th 2025 16:29:18 UTC. All data from this time frame is unrecoverable and considered lost per ESPC. ESPC will provide an update after the Cal/Val teams validate the data as acceptable. Data used before that validation is completed is at the user's own risk.
Attention DMSP Data Users! (7/30/2025)
The Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) has announced plans to continue distribution of Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) data beyond July 31, 2025. As a result, there will be no interruption to DMSP data delivery. Support will be on a best effort (8x5) basis and should be considered data of opportunity.

Attention NOAA-15, NOAA-18 and NOAA-19 Data Users! (6/11/2025)
NOAA-18 was decommissioned on June 6, 2025 at 1740 UTC. NOAA will end delivery of all data from the remaining POES constellation from PDA (NOAA-15 and NOAA-19) on June 16, 2025 at 18:00 UTC. This decision is due to the natural aging of the instruments and the availability of newer, more advanced satellites. If you have a CLASS subscription, data will end June 16, 2025.

Attention GOES-16 Data Users! (updated on 4/7/2025)
On April 7, 2025 at 1510 UTC, the GOES-19 satellite was declared the Operational GOES-East satellite. Shortly following the transition of GOES-19 to GOES-East, all data distribution from GOES-16 will be turned off. GOES-16 will commence drifting to the storage location at 104.7°W. All GOES-19 data are available back to beta product declaration dates.
Attention JPSS Users! (02/24/2025)
Starting on February 24, 2025, for all JPSS satellites (S-NPP, NOAA-20, and NOAA-21), the VIIRS SDRs and the VIIRS Bright Pixel IPs will be associated with and delivered with the VIIRS Terrain-Corrected Geolocation instead of the VIIRS Ellipsoid Geolocation.
Updated ESPC Notice:
Historical VIIRS SDRs and VIIRS Bright Pixel IPs will continue to be associated with and delivered with the Ellipsoid Geolocation.
However, only for S-NPP, the VIIRS Ellipsoid Geolocation (GMODO) will remain orderable separately, just not associated with and delivered with the S-NPP VIIRS SDRs. GMODO will not be available from NOAA-20 or NOAA-21.
The VIIRS Day-Night Band SDR will continue to be associated with and delivered with the VIIRS Day-Night Band Geolocation.
VIIRS EDRs will not be affected by this JPSS geolocation change.
Attention JASON-3 Users! (2/20/2025)
The problem that was causing degraded performance in the Jason-3 OGDRs has been corrected. Jason-3 has been returned to normal operations.
The products are now suitable for operations, and CLASS unrestricted the OGDR data and began receiving Jason-3 IGDR both on February 19, 2025.

Attention CLASS Users! GOES-19 ABI data is now available. (1/28/2025)
GOES-19 ABI L1b radiance data and ABI L2 Cloud and Moisture Imagery (CMI) products have been declared Provisional Validation maturity and are now available under the GOES-R Series ABI Products search page. Many more GOES-19 products will achieve Provisional Validation in the coming weeks.

Now available! The reprocessed Sensor Data Records (SDR) for all instruments flown on S-NPP and reprocessed Temperature Data Records (TDR) for the ATMS instrument flown on S-NPP is now accessible via the CLASS web ordering system. The reprocessed data is located under their own data families listed on the drop down product menu. The date range which covers the reprocessing period for each instrument is:
