O-RAN Certification and Badging Program
The O-RAN Certification and Badging Program represents a comprehensive mechanism to ensure confidence in O-RAN based products and solutions.
O-RAN Certification and Badging Program uses O-RAN tests to verify that O-RAN-based products, groups of products and systems comply with O-RAN specifications and with minimum functional requirements, including conformance, interoperability, end-to-end functionality, security, and use-case testing.
O-RAN certificates and badges can only be awarded by
Open Testing and Integration Centres (OTIC)
and only to
O-RAN Members and Participants
Benefits to vendors
O-RAN Certification and Badging Program establishes industry-accepted testing to minimize repetition of fundamental and common tests to verify and validate O-RAN-based products and systems. It reduces complexity and duration of pre-deployment testing by providing an opportunity to “test once and deploy many”. It helps to promote and improve confidence in vendors’ O-RAN-based products and systems.
Benefits to operators
O-RAN Certification and Badging Program streamlines testing of O-RAN-based products and systems, reduces complexity and duration of pre-deployment testing, and increases efficiency of subsequent steps.

O-RAN
Certificate
To verify that a product is compliant to
O-RAN
specifications, using
O-RAN
conformance tests.
O-RAN
certificate is awarded to a product for one or more
O-RAN
interfaces.
O-RAN
Interoperability (IOT) Badge
To prove interoperability of a pair of products connected via an
O-RAN
interface or
O-RAN
profiled 3GPP interface, using
O-RAN
interoperability tests.
O-RAN
IOT badge is awarded to both products in the pair and is applicable for a concrete
O-RAN
interface.
O-RAN End-to-End
(E2E) Badge
To demonstrate and validate that an end-to-end system or subsystem meets minimum requirements on functionality and security, using
O-RAN
end-to-end tests. It can also provide an indication of performance or other end-to-end functionalities.
O-RAN
E2E badge is awarded to all products in the end-to-end system or subsystem.
O-RAN
Certification and Badging Catalogue
The basic (non-sensitive) information about all awarded O-RAN certificates and badges are listed in the following centralized catalogue. The summary and test reports associated with a concrete O-RAN certificate or badge are stored by the individual OTIC issuing the O-RAN certificate or badge. The OTIC is obliged to share the reports with O-RAN Members (i.e. mobile network operators with membership in O-RAN ALLIANCE) upon request. Sharing of the reports with other O-RAN and non-O-RAN entities is possible at the discretion of all copyright holders (i.e. the OTIC and all vendors participated in the certification or badging testing).
