Psychology Clinical Neuroscience Center (PCNC)
The Mission of the UNM Psychology Clinical Neuroscience Center (PCNC) is the development of new knowledge regarding how normal and abnormal behavior and cognition arise from the brain. This is accomplished by a balanced program of research and teaching, supporting the academic mission of the Department and the advancement of students and faculty, facilitating alliances of investigators with common research interests, identifying and supporting opportunities for Psychology faculty recruitment, facilitating the acquisition of new extramurally funded projects and maintenance of existing projects, and facilitating the acquisition, maintenance and supervision of PCNC core services including the application of brain imaging and stimulation technologies.
A Message from the Director
Welcome to the UNM Psychology Clinical Neuroscience Center, a core research resource for the UNM Department of Psychology and the broader scientific community.  Since opening in 2013, the PCNC has facilitated a variety of scientific projects that have advanced our understanding in a wide range of areas, such as executive attention, emotion and information processing efficiency and improved cognition in healthy people, and developmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, OCD and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), clinical disorders in adults such as addiction, psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, treatments for aging- and health-related cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, brain connectivity, decision-making, memory, and schizophrenia.   We are dedicated to providing the UNM research community with the highest quality EEG and brain stimulation resources.  Our talented and experienced staff offer a full range of support for research applications and are working hard to ensure that the community has ready access to cutting edge technologies for brain research.
Please explore our website to learn more about our resources and the many projects being conducted here. This is a very exciting time to be involved in all areas of brain research, and I hope that you will join us in this endeavor.
