PulsePoint Respond
We’re Feelin’ The Love
Thank you to the 200,000 people who took the time to rate PulsePoint Respond and felt our work was worthy of 5 stars. We mark this milestone with great excitement and tremendous appreciation for our user community.
Since launching PulsePoint in 2011, we’ve always sought feedback about our apps’ performance. Without it, we know we could not continue to improve. Through your reviews and ratings, the PulsePoint Foundation has continuously adapted and strengthened our products to better meet the needs of our users. We look forward to celebrating our next milestone with you.
Highly recommend
I'm telling all my coworkers, friends, and family about this app now. I was able to respond to a notification that someone nearby needed CPR, and I arrived on scene to do so (successfully, too! Yay!).
Incredible app - amazing for firefighters
This app notifies me of structure fires, medical calls, rescues, etc. and often times faster than our own dispatch can punch the call out to the station.
Stay connected
During these times it’s important to know what our community is doing. This app helps bring us together. I use it as background information for my neighborhood.
PulsePoint is helpful!
It’s nice to get these notifications because I’m very busy and constantly on the go. When time gets short and I receive a notification of an accident or emergency of some kind, I know to avoid that area and find another route. Saves me time and frustration.
Saved my horse from fire!!!
So helpful to know when a fire breaks out. Helped save my horses life evacuating him from a big fire.

“Sudden Cardiac Arrest is not just a job for emergency responders but rather a community-based issue that requires a community-based response.” –
International Association of Fire Chiefs
“In no other medical situation is there such a vital reliance on the community.”
You know the difference early CPR and defibrillation can make in a Sudden Cardiac Arrest event. Fifty-seven percent of U.S. adults say they’ve had CPR training, and most would be willing to use CPR or an AED to help save a stranger’s life. Yet only 11% say they’ve used CPR in an actual emergency—that’s a number we can increase together.
When that life-threatening call comes in emergency responders will be ready. But what if someone was already at the scene, applying lifesaving CPR and defibrillation until they arrive? With PulsePoint, the dispatch center immediately alerts CPR-trained individuals about nearby cardiac arrest events through the free PulsePoint Respond mobile app, and also lets them know the location of the closest AEDs.

The
National Emergency AED Registry
(NEAR) seeks to improve cardiac arrest outcomes by equipping emergency telecommunicators with AED locations and automatically notifying those with access to an AED of the nearby need for a defibrillator. The NEAR registry is hosted and administered by the PulsePoint Foundation.
The foundation assists public safety agencies build, manage and mobilize the AED registry by providing administrative registry access and training, developing registry tools and apps such as PulsePoint AED, and designing CPR and AED community outreach campaigns and collateral—all at no cost. The Foundation also provides a suite of registry supporting APIs for industry partners such as emergency call handling and medical guidance application vendors.
The PulsePoint Foundation, a US-based public 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a focused mission to improve cardiac arrest survival in partnership with public safety agencies, advocates for emergency call centers to provide callers with AED locations during cardiac arrest call processing (T-AED). This is similar in concept to providing Telecommunicator CPR instruction (T-CPR).

911-initiated AED Response: Would you be willing to bring your AED to someone nearby experiencing a cardiac arrest?
While AED registries have traditionally been used to meet regulatory requirements, the growing use of dispatch-accessible, time-of-need emergency AED registries offers meaningful new opportunities to increase the use of these lifesaving devices. Op-Ed: What Communities Can Learn About Cardiac Response from Damar Hamlin Incident
The unsettling collapse of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin during a Monday Night Football game brought sudden cardiac arrest to the attention of millions of Americans. Surviving sudden cardiac arrest relies on immediate medical attention, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED (automated external defibrillator) use. Mr. Hamlin was fortunate in that he was quickly surrounded by medical professionals armed with an emergency action plan, and experienced paramedics joined them within minutes.
