If you’re a BMC Health System provider submitting an order for a BMCHS patient, or you work for an organization that uses OCHIN or BMC's Epic (such as certain Boston HealthNet CHCs), you can order lab tests directly through Epic. Just search for the lab or imaging test you’d like your patient to have and use the button to submit.

What is the process for registering new patients, and who do we contact?

The process varies by site and specialty. Some departments register patients at scheduling, while others register them upon arrival. There is currently no centralized call center for pre-registration or registration. Please refer to the Contact page for direct department phone numbers.
Do existing BMC patients need to re-register at BMC Brighton?

No. Patients receiving care for the first time at BMC Brighton do not need to re-register.
Do providers at BMC Brighton accept the same insurance as BMC?

In most cases, yes. For specific coverage questions, please contact the department you are referring to.
Are providers at BMC Brighton credentialed under BMCHS?

Yes. All providers are credentialed and enrolled under BMCHS. For patients with MassHealth Limited or Health Safety Net, please call the provider office to confirm eligibility.
Who do I contact for billing or financial assistance?

How do PCPs receive encounter notes after a referral?

Following a patient visit, encounter notes are faxed to the referring provider. Fax numbers are maintained and updated in the EHR.
