Synopsis

Legendary driver Zhang Chi made a heroic effort five years ago, winning the race but losing everything. Five years later, he forms a new team and returns to the Bayinbulak track, fighting once again to clear his name.

Overview

Pegasus 2 (Chinese: 飞驰人生2) is a 2024 Chinese mainland racing comedy film directed and written by Han Han, starring Shen Teng. The film is a sequel to the 2019 film Pegasus and was released in mainland China on February 10, 2024 (the first day of the Lunar New Year).

The film stars Shen Teng, Huang Jingyu, Yin Zheng, Fan Chengcheng, Benxi, and Zhang Lei. It tells the story of legendary driver Zhang Chi, who, after his results were disqualified following a heroic effort on the Bayinbulak track five years ago, is reduced to working as a driving school instructor. Five years later, he unexpectedly gets a chance to form a new team and returns to the Bayinbulak track to fight for his former glory and innocence.

Plot

Five years ago, professional racing driver Zhang Chi (played by Shen Teng) crossed the finish line at full speed on the Bayinbulak track, flying off the cliff with his car. Although he won the race, his results were disqualified by the organizing committee because the lead seal of a key car part could not be found. He was subsequently banned from racing, losing everything in his racing career.

Five years later, Zhang Chi makes a living by running a driving school, but he never gives up his dream of racing. By chance, he meets his former partner Sun Yuqiang (played by Yin Zheng) and the wealthy second-generation driver Li Xiaohai (played by Fan Chengcheng). The three decide to form a new team to participate in the new Bayinbulak Rally.

However, returning to the track is not easy. Shortage of funds, outdated equipment, the contempt of rivals, and Zhang Chi's declining physical abilities all become huge obstacles. But through repeated failures and perseverance, this group of racing enthusiasts finally stands at the starting line, sprinting with all their might for dignity and dreams.
