This community service aims to increase literacy interest in students in the Surabaya and Probolinggo areas through short story writing training. The urgency of doing this community service activity is because students' interest in literacy activities is still low. The method used in this training is a tutorial method and online mentoring by utilizing the Zoom meeting application. During the training, participants received literature introduction materials, basic materials for writing short story genres, short story writing practices, and work discussions. The results of this community service activity are the ability to write short stories and the formation of student literacy interests, especially in reading literary works of the short story genre. Bawean language is identified as a hybrid language. Many languages influence the vocabulary of the Bawean language. At least, there are Madurese, Javanese, Malay, Buginese, etc. However, most of Bawean vocabulary are from Madurese. In its distribution to surroundings areas, Madurese is a language that is not easy to change its grammar. Even, it tends to influence the native local language of the people, as the Pandalungan Javanese that is used by the people in the north coast areas of East Java. There, the Grammar of Madurese influences much the Javanese, that is the native language of Javanese people. In other case, it occurs differently in Bawean language. Here, the language that most of the vocabulary comes from Madurese is influenced by the Javanese grammar. It makes the Bawean language different from the Madurese. Bahasa Bawean merupakan kreolisasi bahasa Madura. Bahasa lokal ini dituturkan oleh penduduk di wilayah administratif Kabupaten Gresik Jawa Timur yang mayoritas penduduknya merupakan penutur bahasa Jawa. Selain itu, budaya dan bahasa Melayu sangat mempengaruhi keseharian kehidupan berbahasa penduduk Pulau Bawean. Pengaruh bahasa Jawa dan Melayu membuat bahasa Bawean yang sebagian besar kosakatanya berasal dari bahasa Madura menjadi sebuah bahasa yang unik dalam perkembangannya. Probolinggo, East Java is an area of Pandalungan. Culturally, the area has the mixing of Javanese and Madurese cultures, so as the local languages that are used by the society. Most of Probolinggo people master Javanese as well as Madurese language. Besides, there is one more dialect developing in Probolinggo, that is Tengger dialectdialect. It is used by the Tengger society in Tengger Mountainuos region around Mount Bromo. The Javanese that is used by the Tengger society is different from the Javanese of Probolinggo or even the standard Javanese. The significant difference is in the pronunciation of the vowel. It tends to have the features of the Old Javanese. By doing Comparative Historical Linguistics study, the features of Tengger dialect compared to the Modern and Old Javanese. Reduplication is one of the important features in the process of word formation both in Indonesian and in the local languages. The word formation is characterized by repeating the root of the words in the form of a full or partial reduplication. In this case, one of the significant markers in the reduplication is the meaning of the root which is carried over to the results of the word repetition. However, there is an unusual reduplication process in the case of Javanese, Madurese and Bawean language. In these languages, it occurs the reduplication of words where the roots have no meaning whatsoever. This reduplication seems to occur productively. This case is based on a qualitative descriptive study with observation and interview as the data collection methods. The words formed from the reduplication and their roots become the data. Furthermore, an analysis is carried out by using a distributional method with a morphological theoretical approach. It is to describe the productivity of the pseudoreduplication cases in the three local languages spoken in the administrative area of East Java. This research is important to do for building a local language theory. This study finds productive cases of pseudo-reduplication in these local languages.

Pesatnya perkembangan Iptek serta beralihnya kecenderungan ketertarikan masyarakat dari penggunaan kamus cetak menuju kamus elektronik menjadi pendorong bermunculannya berbagai aplikasi kamus elektronik baik berupa kamus daring maupun kamus luring. Namun, biasanya aplikasi kamus elektronik tersebut masih terbatas membandingkan dua bahasa, baik berupa bahasa lokal dengan bahasa nasional maupun bahasa nasional dengan bahasa asing. Semestinya, aplikasi tersebut dapat dikembangkan menjadi tiga bahasa sekaligus, yaitu bahasa lokal, bahasa nasional, sekaligus bahasa asing. Hal ini dilakukan dalam penyusunan kamus daring tiga bahasa: Madura-Indonesia-Inggris. Kamus ini dapat membandingkan tiga bahasa sekaligus, yaitu bahasa Madura, bahasa Indonesia, dan bahasa Inggris. Ketika dilakukan pencarian dalam bahasa Madura, dua bahasa yang lain akan menjadi bahasa sasaran, begitu pula ketika pencarian dilakukan dari dua bahasa lainnya. Pada kamus daring ini juga terdapat pengembangan aplikasi dengan menyertakan beberapa fitur tambahan, sehingga fungsi kamus elektronik saat ini dapat menjadi lebih lengkap dan lebih meluas. Fitur tambahan berupa bentuk pelafalan sekaligus transkripsi fonetisnya dapat dilakukan pada kamus daring tiga bahasa ini. Jadi, lema dalam kamus daring ini disertakan berupa bentuk ejaan, pelafalan, transkripsi fonetis, serta gambar visualnya. Pengguna kamus dapat memilih salah satu dari tiga fitur yang disediakan, atau memanfaatkan tiga fitur sekaligus dari ketiga bahasa ini. Diharapkan, kamus ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna ketiga bahasa ini, baik masyarakat awam dalam tingkat lokal, nasional, dan internasional; maupun para penggiat bahasa. Masyarakat awam dapat dengan mudah mengetahui bentuk ejaan pada tiap-tiap lema sekaligus bentuk pelafalannya. Sedangkan, para penggiat bahasa dapat juga sekaligus memanfaatkan bentuk transkripsi fonetisnya. Sehingga, kamus ini juga dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu bentuk data dalam penelitian linguistik.
