Learn Outside of The Classroom
January Term
J Term gives you opportunities to go deep into your major during an immersive, three-week learning experience. You can study abroad, do research alongside your professors on campus, take care of course requirements, or go in depth with a special interest class. Note that all domestic J Term options are also offered online. Whatever you choose, it’s all focused on you.
Internships
Through your Guidance Teams, you can connect to real-world internship opportunities that pertain to your field of study. As you network with alumni and get practical work experience, you’ll be even better prepared for a successful career.
Student-Faculty Research
You’ll work directly alongside faculty as you collaborate on research initiatives, develop hypotheses, present at regional and national conferences, and even have a chance at receiving a Freedman Prize for your work.
Honors Program
Looking for an extra challenge? The Hartwick Honors Program invites outstanding students to broaden their perspectives and deepen their learning through challenge-focused academic opportunities. As an honors student, you’ll work closely with faculty mentors, live alongside other motivated peers, and integrate these unique experiences into your FlightPath, ensuring a rich and rewarding academic journey.

The Center for Craft Food & Beverage (CCFB) is a resource for quality testing, research, and education that supports small and midsized businesses. The CCFB offers work-study employment, research and internship opportunities for Hartwick students.
