PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Make London your second home while living and studying at London Metropolitan University in the city's dynamic Islington neighborhood. Hop on the Tube at the Holloway Road station, conveniently located near campus, and all of London is accessible!
• Take classes in biomedical sciences, business, health, journalism, psychology, and so much more!
• Voted as one of the best universities in the U.K. for teaching quality, faculty at London Met focus on providing real-world skills and practical knowledge to prepare students for success in the workforce. Outside of class, you’ll feel welcome and accepted as a member of this diverse campus.
• Nothing can beat the central location of London Met! Watch Arsenal at the nearby Emirates Stadium, stop in for a pint at one of the many nearby pubs, go sightseeing along the Thames, soak in art and history at one of the world-class museums, or see one of London’s many live music or theatre performances!
LIFE ABROAD
Live and study in the heart of London as part of a diverse and multicultural student body! Spread across three campuses, you’ll love attending classes in the fashionable shopping district of Holloway Road in the central London borough of Islington, in Shoreditch in London’s vibrant East End, or in the historic “City of London”, now the core of London’s financial district. With excellent public transportation and lively, walkable city streets, it’s easy to explore London’s many activities! Academically, London Met’s practical course offerings are focused on employability and are the perfect way to gain skills needed after graduation.
LIVE
While you’re studying in London, you’ll live in a vibrant student accommodation called “The Stay Club” in the heart of London’s Kentish Town. You'll share a double room in a hall-style dorm, complete with a full-size bunk bed, ensuite bathroom, and kitchenette. Make friends easily by living with both ISEP students and other university students in London. London Met’s Holloway campus is only 25 minutes from the accommodation by bus, and the Kentish Town Tube station is a mere 6-minute walk. The Stay Club offers free Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, an on-site café, cinema, gym, and social events organized by the housing staff.
DINE
Although meals are not included in the ISEP Direct program fee, there are plenty of pubs, coffee shops, and restaurants place to grab a meal near both campus and your accommodations. While in London, be sure to try the diverse food choices—delicious curries, peri peri chicken, a classic English breakfast, the myriad vegetarian specialties, fish and chips, and classic high tea. With multiple supermarkets near the residences, it’s easy to grab groceries and prepare a quick meal with friends in your ensuite kitchenette. Plan to spend 50-70 GBP ($70-$100 USD) on food each week.
EXPERIENCE
With Wi-Fi, pool tables, and board games, London Met’s “The Rocket” is an ideal spot for studying and hanging out with friends. It has a fantastic outdoor courtyard and venue space, which is perfect for relaxing between and after lectures. Be sure to stop by for quiz nights, karaoke, and happy hours. For deeper conversation, join the monthly Critical Conversation Cafes, hosted by the Center for Equity and Inclusion, which offers a place for debate, reflection and awareness.
EXPLORE
London’s airports offer low-cost flights throughout the U.K. and Europe, so weekend trips to popular spots like Spain and Italy are accessible and affordable. Closer to campus, London offers endless free activities and sightseeing. Plus, there’s always theatre, live music, and sporting events—it's impossible to be bored in London.
THRIVE
Melt away stress and focus on your health at the campus gym, in fitness and wellness classes, or as part of a sports team. Fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, and boxing, are free for students. Counselling services, disability and dyslexia support, and career advice are available as well. Student-run clinics even offer pro bono legal advice and rehab for sports injuries, and the Student Union hosts “The Advice Service” for extra support and guidance. As an ISEP student, you’ll also receive assistance from the International Support Team, a full-time team of staff on campus dedicated to supporting you.
What We Love About London Met
Lots of universities claim to be diverse, but London Met truly is! It’s a great spot for students from all backgrounds, including non-traditional (mature) students. More than 50% of students come from an under-represented background, and over 80% identify as adult (non-traditional) learners.

Students are responsible for staying until the end of the semester
and may not leave before the final date of their semester exams. Neither ISEP nor London Metropolitan University can guarantee an early departure; leaving early may result in a failing exam grade and/or forfeit of credit. Students staying for the Autumn semester who need to be back in their home country by early January for university or an internship, may be able to complete an alternative assessment instead of taking exams which occur in the last two weeks of January. Not all modules have an exam as the final assessment so an alternative may be unnecessary.
Health Sciences, Sports Studies, and lab based coursework is more suitable for Full Year or Spring terms. Many of these courses have exams in mid to late January that require in-person attendance and occur after students have returned home.
Courses in the School of Computing & Digital Media are easier to find in the Spring term over Fall. If students do choose fall, they will need to plan to stay through exams.
Information about modules
(classes)
and credit information is available on the
London Met Module Selection Guide.
In addition to TOEFL and IELTS, London Metropolitan University also accepts the following Cambridge English scores along with the certifying statement of results:
-Cambridge C1 Advanced
(formerly English: Advanced (CAE)):
grade C and above
-Cambridge C2 Proficiency
(formerly Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)):
grade C and above
