Welcome to the Surgical Technology Program
Surgical technologists assist operating-room teams before, during, and after surgeries, along with other responsibilities. Graduates are eligible for work in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, or research facilities. The Surgical Technology program is designed to prepare entry-level Surgical Technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession. Mobility Nursing GPA Requirements
Complete all prerequisite courses with a minimum GPA of 2.7 in previous college credit courses (didactic only/no clinicals) in the licensed rubric with a “C” or better. If coursework was completed elsewhere, equivalent rubrics will be used. Program rubrics accepted from Texas schools include:

(NEW) Consideration for Military Service
Military service members and U.S. military veterans who have recent civilian or military healthcare experience and have completed training within the last
10 years
as
Army Combat Medic, Navy Corpsmen, or Air Force Medic
will also be considered. Applicants will need to submit a
DD Form 214
, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD214) and a
Joint Services Transcript (JST)
Active-duty
applicants will need a letter from the commanding officer for conditional release from active-duty services for the duration of the program.
Active Guard and Reserve
must provide a signed letter from the commanding officer indicating allowance to participate in the program with completion of annual training and reserve weekends before and after the Mobility Track.
