Town Manager
Clerk-Treasurer
In Indiana, the Clerk-Treasurer of Danville is elected every four years. They are crucial in managing the town's official records and serve as the Chief Financial Officer. Their duties, outlined by state and municipal codes, encompass various responsibilities, making them key players in the local government.
The Clerk-Treasurer can hire and oversee staff, manage municipal budgets, and attend to utility matters. They hold a position of equal importance alongside the Town Council and Town Manager. While they don't have full control over wage decisions and final budget approval, they may break tie votes in Town Council meetings. Processes bills and claims, ensuring budget compliance and issues payments approved by the Town Council.
Manages timesheets and maintains payroll records.
Assists in preparing the annual budget and certifying the levy.
Files approved accounts and updates the Town's record books.

Fire Department
The origin of Danville's Fire Department reaches all the way back to 1869.  Since those early days when a handful of volunteers would team up to fight a fire with a horse-drawn cart, the department has evolved into a professionally trained and well-equipped organization consisting of Paid on Call, Part-Time, and Full-Time personnel.  All Danville Fire Department personnel are trained as Firefighters and Emergency Medical Service providers.
The Danville Fire Department provides fire protection services for both Center and Marion Townships.  Averaging between 1,500 to 2,000 calls for service a year, the department continues to meet the demands of a growing community with continued dedication and increased efficiency.
Danville Fire Department Administrative Office is located at 49 N. Wayne St., Danville, IN 46122
Station 192 is located at 100 Twin Bridges Road., Danville, IN 46122
Station 191 is located at
76 N Kentucky St, Danville, IN 46122

Where Does Danville’s Drinking Water Come From?
Water Source: Wells
Danville’s clean drinking water comes from underground wells, which act like giant straws pulling fresh water from beneath the surface. Powerful pumps transport this water to the Danville Water Treatment Plant for processing.
Town of Danville Wellhead Protection Plan
Water Treatment Process
Aeration – Helps clean the water by removing gases and preparing it for filtration.
Filtration – Water passes through layers of sand, gravel, and anthracite (a type of coal) to remove dirt and particles that can make it cloudy or affect taste.
Adding Helpful Chemicals – Chlorine and other approved chemicals are added to eliminate bacteria, ensuring the water is safe to drink.
Testing and Checking – Our experts continuously test the water for germs, chemicals, and other contaminants to maintain the highest safety standards.
Storage & Distribution
Once treated, the clean water is stored in Danville’s water tower and large tanks. This storage system keeps the water safe and allows it to be efficiently distributed to homes, schools, and businesses.
Enjoying Safe Water
Every time you turn on the tap in Danville, you receive fresh, clean water that has undergone a thorough purification process. From the water tower, it travels through pipes to ensure it’s ready for you to drink, cook, and wash with confidence.
