Synopsis

In the vast wilderness where humans, gods, and demons coexist, the princess of Haoling, Xiaoyao, loses her identity and appearance after wandering for a century. She encounters Wen Xiaoliu in Qingshui Town, becoming entangled in a fantastical love story amid the conflicts of three kingdoms and complex emotional entanglements.

Lost You Forever is a 2023 Chinese mainland historical fantasy romance drama, produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and Xinglian Pictures, with Qin Zhen serving as the chief director and Yang Huan as the director. The series is adapted from Tong Hua's novel of the same name, with the screenplay co-written by the original author Tong Hua, along with Wang Jing, Xue Lingzhi, and Qin Ye. It premiered exclusively on Tencent Video on July 24, 2023.

Plot

In the Great Wilderness, humans, gods, and demons coexist, with the three kingdoms of Xiyan, Chenrong, and Haoling standing in a tripartite balance. Haoling's royal princess, Jiuyao (Xiao Yao, played by Yang Zi), who was lost in the Great Wilderness, endured a century of hardship, losing not only her identity but also her appearance, and lived incognito in Qingshui Town.

In Qingshui Town, Xiao Yao transforms into Wen Xiaoliu, making a living as a physician. She successively encounters the gentle and refined godly nobleman Tushan Jing (played by Deng Wei), the Chenrong rebel army's general Xiang Liu (played by Tan Jianci), and the Xiyan royal descendant Cang Xuan (played by Zhang Wanyi). Each shares a complex web of emotional entanglements with Xiao Yao.

As the truth gradually comes to light, Xiao Yao's real identity is revealed, and she must make choices between love, family ties, and the greater good of her nation. Cang Xuan fights across the land to restore his kingdom, Tushan Jing bears the burden of family hatred, Xiang Liu remains loyal to his own beliefs, and Xiao Yao, after a century of solitude, finally finds her own place to belong.
