Attendees will have the opportunity to soak up knowledge from Olympic Games show jumping course designer Linda Allen who will focus on how to train green or challenging horses; and top Hunter/Jumper professional and educator Julie Winkel will explain different teaching and learning styles. A limited number of spots will be available to ride for teaching demonstrations each afternoon. Other top professionals will share their experiences in establishing their businesses, what they did right and wrong and ultimately how their choices allowed them to live their best lives and fulfill their dreams in the horse industry. Julie Winkel Julie Winkel is a leading equestrian trainer, judge, and clinician with extensive achievements in hunter and jumper disciplines. She has held USEF R-rated judging licenses since 1984 and has judged prestigious events such as the Devon Horse Show, Pennsylvania National, and USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship. As one of the first USHJA Certified Trainers, she has trained horses to the highest levels, including Grand Prix wins and hunter championships, and continues to compete today. Julie is a sought-after clinician and educator who owns Maplewood Stables in Reno, Nevada, where she trains, shows and breeds horses. She recently received the 2024 CPHA (California Professional Horseman Association) Lifetime Achievement Award. Linda Allen Linda Allen has had a distinguished 60+ year career in equestrian sports as a rider, judge, and course designer. As a former Grand Prix competitor and USET member, she transitioned into officiating and coaching and became a highly respected Jumper Course Designer and Judge. Allen has earned global recognition for designing courses at prestigious events, including the 1996 Olympic Games, FEI World Cup Finals, and as Technical Delegate for the World Equestrian Games. A member of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame, Allen authored "101 Jumping Exercises for Horse and Rider" and several books and received numerous accolades, including the USEF Pegasus Medal of Honor, Course Designer of the Year, and multiple lifetime achievement awards for her contributions to the sport. GUEST SPEAKERS Carleton “CB” Brooks UNITED STATES EQUESTRIAN TRAINERS ASSOCIATION The United States Equestrian Trainers Association supports and elevates professional equestrian trainers through education, collaboration with governing bodies, and leadership rooted in fairness, horsemanship, equine welfare, and rider safety. Speaking on behalf of the organization, Carleton “CB” Brooks is a USHJA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and respected horseman with over three decades as a trainer, rider, coach, clinician, and USEF ‘R’ judge. Co-founder of Balmoral , an elite hunter/jumper program, he has produced numerous National and Grand Champions across all levels and continues to teach, judge, and mentor riders nationwide, bringing deep experience and a commitment to shaping the future of the sport. David Reichert UNITED DRESSAGE AND JUMPING CLUB David Reichert is a German-born professional rider and trainer who has coached athletes to international Grand Prix and championship levels in both dressage and jumping. Drawing on decades of experience across both disciplines, he founded the United Dressage and Jumping Club (UDJC), a nationwide organization dedicated to shaping equestrian sport in the United States by making it more fair, more accessible, and more focused on true horse-and-rider development. McKrell Baier UNITED STATES EQUESTRIAN SOCIETY The United States Equestrian Society (US-ES) is an independent organization dedicated to education, ethical standards, and professional development within the U.S. equestrian community. Focused on creating clear, accessible pathways for riders and instructors, US-ES promotes ethical, sustainable practices through education, certification, and innovative competition models aligned with global standards. Co-founded by McKrell Baier , a respected rider, coach, and educator, the organization reflects her decades of leadership and commitment to advancing equine welfare, expanding access, and strengthening professional standards across disciplines. Jenny Schwartz EQUESTRIAN FINANCE & BUSINESS STRATEGIST Jenny Schwartz a lifelong equestrian turned finance and business strategist. She has a 30-year career across municipal finance, government, asset management, equine non-profit development, and equestrian sports. She specializes in business consulting , financial literacy training, and coaching, with expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and capital planning. Jenny has advised on over $1 billion in municipal bond transactions and held leadership roles, including Chairman of the Darien Housing Authority and President of New Canaan Mounted Troop.
