Transcript Requirements for Application Review
The Andrew Young School of Policy studies uses a completely online application process. All applicants must upload copies of transcripts online and directly into their application from each post-secondary college/university attended by the application deadline. Transcripts uploaded should meet the requirements stated below. Failure in following these requirements will delay your application from being reviewed for admission.
Upload transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended directly into your application
This includes transcripts from community colleges and study abroad programs.
If you received college level credit, a transcript should be submitted for review by the application deadline, regardless of length of time you attended, whether grades are listed, or where your final degree(s) were received.
For students who have already earned a degree; if the title of the degree and graduation date (month and year) are not indicated on the transcript, separate proof of degree (e.g., an official copy of the diploma or degree certificate) must also be submitted along with the transcript.
Instructions for uploading transcripts:
If you don’t have a current copy of your transcript,
request an official transcript from each institution to be sent to yourself
Paper transcripts: open the sealed envelope, scan transcript and upload to your application
Electronic transcripts: save to your desktop and upload to your application.

Transcripts must include*:
Your name and the institution’s name.
One or more of the following features: registrar’s seal, registrar’s signature, or watermark of the institution.
Degree and date conferred if from institution(s) granting a degree.
Separate diploma or degree certificate page if degree conferral is not listed on the transcript
Current term of study if you are currently enrolled in a degree program.
All pages must be complete, legible, and grades clearly listed.
Non-English transcripts require notarized translations with the original transcripts.
International Credentials
International transcripts must be in English and include mark sheets and course listing with grades, degree certification, and the signature of the Registrar.
If the institution does not provide an English translation, a copy of a certified English translation must be attached at the end of the scanned copy of the original transcript.
3-year Bachelor’s degrees:
Georgia State University and the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies recognize certain 3-year degrees as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree for admission to our graduate programs:
3-year Indian bachelor’s degrees from NAAC institutions rated ‘A’ or better, with a First Division/Class degree classification.
3-year Indian bachelor’s degrees, plus one year of master’s degree studies.
Bologna undergraduate degrees with 180 ECTS credits.
Other 3-year bachelor’s degrees, plus one to two years of master’s degree studies, may also be recognized as equivalent.
Please note:
All international credentials must be evaluated at the time of application. We conduct in-house evaluations but do not offer pre-application evaluations.
There is no guarantee that a 3-year bachelor’s degree will be equated to a U.S. bachelor’s degree for admission purposes.
For equivalency uncertainties or for an equivalency pre-application evaluation, applicants may opt for a third-party equivalency review (third-party fees apply). We accept evaluations from:

Can’t I just send an official transcript directly to the University?
Do not submit official transcripts directly to the University for the admissions review process.
Submitting official transcripts directly to the University will delay receipt of your materials by the admissions committee, and could delay or prevent your application from being considered.

Anything hand-written
Documents that are password-protected or contain macros
Unclear, illegible copies
