TRANSIT
Thousand Oaks operates five local bus routes and one seasonal bus route to Zuma Beach and Ventura Harbor, serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, and surrounding areas.
Our buses are powered by clean-burning natural gas and maintained to the highest quality. Using the bus is an inexpensive and environmentally responsible way to travel. The bus routes are designed to provide service to significant shopping centers, schools, hospitals, parks, and public facilities. Our buses are equipped with free WiFi service, security cameras for your safety, and bike racks for your convenience.

To provide safe, quality, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective coordinated transportation services that enhance the quality of life in the Thousand Oaks community and surrounding areas.

New Bus Route Changes!
We’re excited to announce new bus route changes,
effective January 12, 2026
! The bus route changes include a brand-new route, Route 45: Newbury Park - Rancho Conejo. Changes also include updated timetables, new route names, and updated brochures. Information is also available at City Hall, the Goebel Adult Center, the Teen Center, and the Transportation Center.
Public Transit Youth Travel Training
Students are invited to a travel training focused on transit services just for youth riders on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center!
Learn about the new route changes, Summer Beach Bus, and how to use public transit services with confidence. Parents and guardians are welcome. Learn more

Lost and Found
Items left on the bus will be turned in to the administrative office at the City Transportation Center as soon as the bus stops there. For buses that do not stop at the City Transportation Center, items found will be turned in no later than 7:00 a.m. the next day.
