TRIO helps students overcome social and cultural barriers to higher education. The TRIO Programs Office at Bowling Green State University comprises several educational outreach and academic enrichment programs designed to motivate and assist students to enter and succeed in higher education. Our target populations are students who are first-generation students who come from families with limited income. Participants are selected according to their potential for academic success. TRIO offers several college and pre-college programs to help students to prepare and succeed in their education. Pre-College Programs Pre-College Programs provide academic and financial guidance, mentoring and other support services. Our goal is help local high school students enroll in, succeed at and graduate from a college or university. Pre-College Program staff are not college recruiters. Pre-College Programs College Programs College Programs aim to increase educational access for individuals from groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education across the nation. These programs work to break barriers and provide opportunities for success in college and beyond.
