The St John’s uniform is an essential part of the ethos of the school. It creates a sense of belonging and purpose. Our uniform should be comfortable, durable and incorporate our desire for sustainability and our belief that our uniform should be as similar as possible regardless of gender.
As our students represent St John’s in Marlborough and the wider community, they are expected to maintain high standards of behaviour when wearing their uniform, including travelling to and from school.

The following required items of clothing can only be purchased on-line from our official uniform/sports kit supplier,

Sweater:
St John’s unisex navy v-neck sweater with sky blue stripe around the neck with logo.

Please note: the new school jumper must be worn over the polo shirt (unless in extremely hot weather).

* Non-Branded items can be purchased from those suppliers who offer a specific school wear range of clothing (not fashion range) e.g.  John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Supermarkets, but are also available from our on-line supplier, if preferred.
Year 11 students only
Students in
Year 11 in September 2026
can continue to wear their current uniform until June 2027 at which time only the above new style items will be permissible.
Please note that a combination of the new-style and old-style uniform is not permitted.

Skirts:
St John’s tailored straight or pleated black skirt with logo

Navy blue with logo stripes

Black or natural. White socks must not be worn over tights.

Black, knee-length, classic tailored shorts during the summer term only.

Ordering Uniform
St John’s Uniform and Sports Kit can only be purchased on-line from our official uniform/sports kit supplier, Schoolshop  via the SchoolShop button below.
Orders of £55 and over qualify for free delivery to your home address.
Orders under £55 will be delivered to your home address for a fee of £4.25.
Second-hand uniform
A group of St John’s parents run a Facebook group – St John’s Marlborough Second Hand Uniform. The group is
NOT
run by St John’s but fits in with our sustainability focus. Search Facebook for St John’s Marlborough Second-hand Uniform.
Note: All transactions should be handled outside of school. St John’s Reception is not able to handle collections or deliveries of any transactions agreed between parents.
Subsidy/Discount Scheme
A Subsidy Scheme is in place to assist those families who will find it difficult to purchase the uniform and Sports Kit.   The subsidy is available to students in receipt of, or whose parents or guardians (not foster parents) are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:
Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
PLEASE NOTE: If you receive Working Tax Credit other than the above run-on you will NOT be entitled to the subsidy.
If you are in receipt of one of the above benefits, you must apply for Free School Meals (FSM) at St John’s before any subsidy can be claimed. You can claim for FSM by completing the application at
. Copy documentation (current year’s Universal Credit award notice and not more than 6 months old, three recent Universal Credit statements or similar) will be required to support your claim for subsidy; if the application for FSM via the above link is not found. Please contact
finance@stjohns.excalibur.org.uk
if the result comes back as Not found.
If eligible, subsidy is only available for one of each item per order per year except in exceptional circumstances. Please contact the school for a subsidy voucher
before
placing your order as the subsidy cannot be applied retrospectively. Please contact the school on
uniform@stjohns.excalibur.org.uk
and provide your child’s name, tutor group and a list of the items that you wish to purchase.
Labelling Sports Kit
All sports kit should be named both inside and out.
The outside should be labelled using the One Inch ID Tag Labels – Navy Blue Background with Gold Metallic Letters from
EASY2NAME
.  The labels should be sewn on opposite to the St John’s logo.
The label should feature your child’s
surname only.
The labels can be ordered online at

This means we receive a donation of 20% of your order value so it’s a great way to help raise funds for St John’s.
Lost Property
Items of lost property including uniform, other clothing, items of sports kit and lunchboxes will be available in the Atrium. Valuable items are kept securely in Reception. Named items are returned to students wherever possible. Unclaimed and  unnamed items of lost property will be recycled at the end of each school term. St John’s can accept no responsibility for property lost or damaged on school premises.
