വിക്കിപീഡിയയുടെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും നയങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും സാങ്കേതിക കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും ചർച്ച ചെയ്യാനുള്ള വേദിയാണ് വിക്കിപീഡിയ പഞ്ചായത്ത്. കൂടുതൽ സൗകര്യാർത്ഥം പഞ്ചായത്തിനെ ആറു ഗ്രാമസഭകളായി തിരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. താങ്കളുടെ സംശയങ്ങളും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളും ഏതു വിഭാഗത്തിൽപെടുന്നുവെന്നു പരിശോധിച്ച് താഴെക്കാണുന്ന പട്ടികയിൽ നിന്നും അനുയോജ്യമായ സഭ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക. ഗ്രാമസഭകളിലെ ചർച്ചകളിൽ ഒപ്പുവയ്ക്കാൻ മറക്കരുത്.

ഈ വരുന്ന മാസത്തിൽ ഓണവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് വിക്കി ലൗസ് ഓണം 2024 എന്ന പേരിൽ കോമ്മൺസിൽ ഒരു ഫോട്ടോ കാമ്പയിൻ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. സെപ്റ്റംബർ 1 മുതൽ 30 വരെയാണ് ഫോട്ടോ കാമ്പയിൻ നടത്തുന്നത്.

വിക്കിമീഡിയ കോമൺസസിൽ ഓണവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട സ്വതന്ത്ര ചിത്രങ്ങൾ, വീഡിയോകൾ ചേർക്കുകയും മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ ചേർക്കാൻ ക്ഷണിക്കുകയും ആണ് ഈ പ്രചാരണത്തിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം.

പരിപാടിയുമായി ബന്ധപെട്ട് കോമൺസിൽ ചേർക്കുന്ന ഓണചിത്രങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് താളുകൾ മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുക, കൂടാതെ ചിത്രങ്ങളില്ലാത്ത ലേഖനങ്ങളിൽ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ ചേർക്കുക, ഓണവിഭവങ്ങളുടെ ശേഖരം സൃഷ്‌ടിക്കുക തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി കാര്യങ്ങൾ നമ്മുക്ക് വിക്കിയിൽ ചെയ്യാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ഇതിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു തിരുത്തൽ യജ്ഞം ഓൺലൈൻ ആയും കൂടാതെ ഒക്ടോബർ മാസത്തിൽ ഓഫ്‌ലൈൻ ആയും സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

വിക്കിപീഡിയ ലേഖനങ്ങളിൽ വീഡിയോകളുടെ അഭാവം നമുക്കെല്ലാമറിയാവുന്നതാണല്ലോ. പല വിഷയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നല്ല ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ ഇൻറർനെറ്റിൽ ലഭ്യമാണെങ്കിലും, മീഡിയ/ബ്രോഡ്കാസ്റ്റിംഗ് കമ്പനികളുടെ കോപ്പിറൈറ് പോളിസി വിക്കിപീഡിയക്ക് യോജിച്ചത് അല്ലാത്തതാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ഒരു കാരണം. പക്ഷെ WikiLovesBroadcast തുടങ്ങിയ ക്യാമ്പയ്ൻസ് വഴി ബ്രോഡ്കാസ്റ്റിംഗ് കമ്പനികൾ വിക്കിപീഡിയക്ക് വീഡിയോ സംഭാവന ചെയ്തു പോരുന്നുണ്ട്.

വിക്കിമീഡിയ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ പാർട്ട്ണർഷിപ്പ് ടീമിലെ വിപിൻ സഫാരി ടിവിയുടെ സ്ഥാപകൻ സന്തോഷ് ജോർജ് കുളങ്ങരയെ നേരിട്ടു കാണുകയുണ്ടായി. സഞ്ചാരത്തിന്റെ വീഡിയോ ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ വിക്കിപീഡിയയിൽ ക്രീയേറ്റീവ് കോമൺസ് ലൈസെൻസിൽ ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നത് സംസാരിച്ചപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം താല്പര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നാണ് അറിയാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. പക്ഷെ ഇത് നടപ്പിലാക്കാനുള്ള സമയമോ വിക്കിമീഡിയ കോമൺസുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട സാങ്കേതിക പരിശീലനമോ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സ്റ്റാഫിന് ഉണ്ടാവില്ല എന്നാണ് അനുമാനിക്കുന്നത്.

മലയാളം വിക്കിമീഡിയ സമൂഹം WikiLovesBroadcast ക്യാമ്പയിൻ ആയി ചേർന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചാൽ ഒരുപക്ഷെ ഇത് ഫലപ്രദമായി നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞേക്കും. ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ മിനുട്ട് ദൈർഘ്യം വരുന്ന ഈ ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ മലയാളത്തിലെയും മറ്റു ഭാഷ വിക്കിപീഡിയകളിലെയും അനുയോജ്യമായ ലേഖനങ്ങളിൽ ചേർക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. സഞ്ചാരം എന്ന പരിപാടിയിലെ ദൃശ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് പുറമെ, കേരളവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടതും മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയക്ക് ഉപയോഗപ്രദമായതുമായ മറ്റു ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും സഫാരി ടീവി നിർമിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ വിഷയം ചർച്ച ചെയാനും, താല്പര്യമുള്ളവർ ചേർന്ന് ഒരു പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് പ്ലാൻ തയ്യാറാക്കാനും ഒരു കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തിയാൽ നന്നായിരിക്കും. എല്ലാവരുടെയും അഭിപ്രായം അറിയിക്കാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. --നത (സംവാദം) 20:04, 20 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 2024 (UTC)[മറുപടി]

ഈ കാര്യത്തിന് കൂടുതൽ ക്ലാരിറ്റി വേണം. അതായത് ഈ വീഡിയോകൾ എങ്ങനെ ലഭ്യമാകുന്നു? ഏതെല്ലാം ഭാഗമാണ് നമ്മൾ കട്ട് ചെയ്ത് എടുക്കേണ്ടത്? കട്ട് ചെയ്തെടുത്ത വീഡിയോകൾ വീണ്ടും റീവാലിഡേറ്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? OTRS എന്ന പ്രോസസ് ചെയ്യുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ ക്ലാരിറ്റി വരണം. ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ എനിക്കുള്ള ഒരു എക്സ്പീഡിയൻസ് കഴിഞ്ഞ വിക്കിമാനിയയിൽ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള ഒരു ടൂൾ ഞാനും മുജീബും ചേർന്ന് നിർമ്മിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. വിക്കിമാനിയയുടെ ഒരു ദിവസം നീളമുള്ള വീഡിയോയിൽ നിന്നും ഒരു സെഷൻ വീഡിയോ കട്ട് ചെയ്ത് കോമൺസിൽ അപ്ലോഡ് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ടൂൾ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കൂടുതൽ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ആരോട് ആലോചിക്കണം. എങ്ങനെ മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാം എന്ന നിർദ്ദേശം തരിക. രൺജിത്ത് സിജി {Ranjithsiji} ✉ 14:55, 21 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 2024 (UTC)[മറുപടി]

മറുപടി എഴുതിയതിൽ വളരെ നന്ദി. താങ്കളും മുജീബും ചേർന്ന് നിർമ്മിച്ച ടൂൾ നമ്മുടെ പ്രൊജക്റ്റിന് വളരെയധികം ഉപകാരപ്രദമായിരിക്കും. താങ്കൾ ചോദിച്ച മറ്റ് ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് നിർദ്ദേശം നൽകുന്നതിലുപരി താങ്കളും മറ്റ് വിക്കിപ്രവർത്തകരുമായി കൂടി ആലോചിച്ച് വ്യക്തത വരുത്തുന്നതാകും നല്ലത് എന്നാണ് എൻ്റെ അഭിപ്രായം. അടുത്ത വിക്കിമീഡിയൻസ് ഇൻ കേരള മീറ്റിങ്ങിൽ ഇത് ചർച്ചയ്ക്ക് വയ്ക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ?

സഞ്ചാരവുമായി MoU (memorandum of understanding) വിക്കിമീഡിയ ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ ഒപ്പിട്ടശേഷം, 10-20 വീഡിയോകൾ അടങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു പൈലറ്റ് അപ്ലോഡ് നടത്തി നോക്കിയിട്ട് പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതായിരിക്കും നല്ലത് എന്നതാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്, മറ്റ് അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുമല്ലോ. സഞ്ചാരം വീഡിയോകളിൽ വിക്കിമീഡിയയക്ക് ഉപകാരപ്രദമായവ ഏത്, ആ വീഡിയോകളിൽ ഏത് ഭാഗങ്ങളാണ് മുറിച്ചെടുക്കേണ്ടത് എന്നതൊക്കെ നമ്മൾ തീരുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Indic Wikimedia Hackathon Bhubaneswar 2024, hosted by the Indic MediaWiki Developers UG (aka Indic-TechCom) in collaboration with the Odia Wikimedians UG. The event will take place in Bhubaneswar during 20-22 December 2024.

Wikimedia hackathons are spaces for developers, designers, content editors, and other community stakeholders to collaborate on building technical solutions that help improve the experience of contributors and consumers of Wikimedia projects. The event is intended for:

• Technical contributors active in the Wikimedia technical ecosystem, which includes developers, maintainers (admins/interface admins), translators, designers, researchers, documentation writers etc.
• Content contributors having in-depth understanding of technical issues in their home Wikimedia projects like Wikipedia, Wikisource, Wiktionary, etc.
• Contributors to any other FOSS community or have participated in Wikimedia events in the past, and would like to get started with contributing to Wikimedia technical spaces.

Dear Wikimedians,

We are excited to announce the launch of the Indic writing systems campaign 2025, which will take place from 23 January 2025 (World Endangered Writing Day) to 21 February 2025 (International Mother Language Day). This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of WikiProject writing Systems to raise awareness about the documentation and revitalization of writing systems, many of which are currently underrepresented or endangered.

Representatives from important organizations that work with writing systems, such as Endangered Alphabets and the Script Encoding Initiative, support the campaign. The campaign will feature two primary activities focused on the list of target scripts:

• Wikidata Labelathon: A focused effort to improve and expand the information related to South Asian scripts on Wikidata.

• Wikipedia Translatathon: A collaborative activity aimed at enhancing the coverage of South Asian writing systems and their cultural significance on Wikipedia.

We are looking for local organizers to engage their respective communities. If you are interested in organizing, kindly sign-up here. We also encourage all Indic Wikimedians to join us in this important campaign to help document and celebrate the diverse writing systems of South Asia.

Hello everyone,

We’re happy to share that the Access to Knowledge (A2K) program has now formally become part of the Raj Reddy Centre for Technology and Society at IIIT-Hyderabad. Going forward, our work will continue under the name Open Knowledge Initiatives.

The new team includes most members from the former A2K team, along with colleagues from IIIT-H already involved in Wikimedia and Open Knowledge work. Through this integration, our commitment to partnering with Indic Wikimedia communities, the GLAM sector, and broader open knowledge networks remains strong and ongoing. ATTT is designed for experienced Wikimedians who have or have not previously participated in Train the Trainer, but wish to develop further their leadership, thematic expertise, and practical application skills. The training will run in two thematic tracks:

• Evaluation, Impact, and Data Storytelling – Learn to measure, analyse, and narrate the impact of Wikimedia initiatives through hands-on labs and peer feedback.
• Project Design: From Learning to Action – Work on a 3-month project with mentoring and planning tools, turning learning into impactful, context-driven initiatives.

മലയാളം വിക്കിപീഡിയയുടെ 23-ാമത് ജന്മദിനാഘോഷം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് സംബന്ധിച്ച്. ഈ പരിപാടി എല്ലാവർഷത്തെയും പോലെ വിക്കിമീഡിയൻസ് ഓഫ് കേരള യൂസർഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ വാർഷികസമ്മേളനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് തൃശൂരിൽ നടത്താമെന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് വന്നുചേരുന്ന ചെലവകൾക്കായി ഒരു റാപ്പിഡ് ഗ്രാന്റ് ഇന്ത്യ റാപ്പിഡ് പ്രോഗ്രാം വഴി അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ഇതുമായിബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കൂടുതൽ വിവരങ്ങൾ ലഭ്യമാകുന്ന മുറക്ക് അറിയിക്കുന്നതാണ്. നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങളും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങളും ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നു. -- രൺജിത്ത് സിജി {Ranjithsiji} ✉ 11:46, 30 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 2025 (UTC)[മറുപടി]

Dear all,

I would like to propose organizing Culture Exchange on Malayalam Wikipedia during the month of October 2025.

For the first phase, three regions will be included: Bangladesh, Ukraine, and the Indian state of Kerala. The main rules are:

• Participants on the Malayalam Wikipedia will not write articles related to Kerala.
• Similarly, no one will write about their own language or culture.

This way, we will create and improve articles about each other’s cultures, making the knowledge exchange more diverse and enriching.

I would appreciate hearing the community’s feedback. If there is consensus, we can start the event in October itself.

വിക്കിമീഡിയൻസ് ഓഫ് കേരള യൂസർ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ 2024-25 പ്രവർത്തനറിപ്പോർട്ടിന്റെ കരട് രൂപം തയ്യാറാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ കരട് വായിച്ചുനോക്കാനും അഭിപ്രായങ്ങൾ അറിയിക്കാനും ഇതിൽ ഏതെങ്കിലും പദ്ധതികളെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള വിവരം വിട്ടുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അറിയിക്കാനും താത്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നു. എത്രയും വേഗം റിപ്പോർട്ട് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിനാൽ ഈ കാര്യം ഗൗരവത്തിലെടുക്കാനും അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

ഇന്ത്യയിലെയും ദക്ഷിണേഷ്യയിലെയും മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെയും വിക്കിപീഡിയർ, കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി സംഘാടകർ, മറ്റ് സംഭാവനകൾ നൽകുന്നവർ എന്നിവർ ഒത്തുചേരുന്ന വേദിയാണ് വിക്കികോൺഫറൻസ് ഇന്ത്യ. സ്വതന്ത്ര വിജ്ഞാന പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനും അനുഭവങ്ങൾ പങ്കുവെക്കുന്നതിനും സഹകരിച്ച് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതിനുമുള്ള ഒരിടമാണിത്.
