Pooled Trusts
April 20, 2022
Ryan Boosinger, relationship manager with Lutheran Social
Services of Minnesota, explains pooled trusts, which are
set up to help people who are on benefits due to
disability who come into larger sums of money due to
events such as an inheritance or back-payments after
disability declaration. When looking at larger gifts, it
makes sense to have a conversation about how that money
could be managed. That's where a pooled trust comes in –
those assets can be put into a trust, thus preserving the
funds and protecting beneficiaries from the potential
loss of benefits.
