Where is the Library?

Hopefully the photos of the library above will give you our exact location behind the trees on Station Road close to the cross roads with Back Lane where the entrance to The Market Bosworth School is, and opposite the Bosworth Dental Practice. We have a path direct from Station Road, although the disabled access is from the first gate on Back Lane and around the side of the school. Map.

When are you open?

Our community library, run totally by volunteers, is open for a session every weekday and Saturday morning, please click here for full details of our opening times.

What services do you provide ?

The library is supported by and operates as part of the Leicestershire County Council Leisure & Community Libraries Service. Anyone wishing to borrow books becomes a member of that service and has access to the whole of their book stock, and all other services including their free internet provision with public computers available for your use . Its really easy to join the Libraries Service at the library, anyone including non residents can join and all you need is a form of identity. A free wi-fi service is available at the library for everyone to access and we have photocopying and printing facilities as well.

Borrow, Renew and Reserve

A standard library card allows 24 items to be borrowed for a maximum of 3 weeks unless renewed for longer. There are some borrower categories that are entitled to a greater number of loans, contact a library to find out more. Any item borrowed from a Leicestershire or Rutland Library can be returned to any Leicestershire or Rutland Library. Items can be returned using the returns letterbox while libraries are closed. If an item is returned late there may be an overdue charge to pay. Click this link for details of Renew and Reserve.

Warm Space - Safe Space

For Sale

We have for sale a wide range of up to date paperback books and jigsaws which have been donated to us. The proceeds from these sales go towards running and developing the library. We also have a large range of greeting cards for sale some of which are hand crafted by our volunteers.

Information

There is a dedicated Tourist Information Centre at the library for visitors alongside a range of community information boards and special displays by local groups. See our Local Information Page for helpful links.

Activities

As well as the more expected library services MBCL is developing a range of activities that take place within the library , please see our activities page for further details.

For Hire

The library is also available to hire for meetings outside our library opening times. Following support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Market Bosworth Festival the library has audio visual equipment installed which can be hired for events. We can currently seat eighty people, and the library also makes a very good venue for small group meetings. Full details of room hire are here.
