, todo el mundo puede editar cualquier artículo. Sin embargo, algunas acciones y tareas de mantenimiento están reservadas para una clase especial de usuarios, los
bibliotecarios
(o
sysops
system operators
). Antiguamente se les llamaba
administradores
, pero este nombre podía llevar a confusión y
bibliotecarios
ganó la votación para elegir un nuevo nombre.
Los bibliotecarios son los únicos que pueden:
Borrar páginas e imágenes;
Ver y restaurar páginas borradas;
Bloquear y desbloquear IP de usuarios anónimos;
Bloquear y desbloquear usuarios registrados;
Proteger una página, así como las funciones inversas;
Editar en páginas protegidas;
Revertir páginas rápidamente;
Editar el espacio de nombres de MediaWiki, que incluye las traducciones y el texto de la interfaz del software.
Sin embargo, los bibliotecarios sólo pueden usar esas capacidades en concordancia con las políticas de Wikipidiya. En particular, un bibliotecario no debe usar sus poderes para dirimir un conflicto de ediciones en el que él es parte interesada. Del mismo modo, los bloqueos a usuarios registrados sólo se harán en casos de vandalismo patente, o luego de un proceso en caso de usuarios que no cumplen con otras políticas de Wikipedia.

No son empleados de Wikipedia.
No tienen autoridad de ningún tipo, más allá de la de cualquier otro wikipedista.
No son los responsables de poner las normas; las normas de Wikipedia son escritas entre todos los wikipedistas, por consenso.
No son los únicos que pueden luchar contra vándalos, arreglar errores, y otras tareas de mantenimiento. Todo eso es tarea de todos los wikipedistas, sin excepción.
No son wikipedistas de
élite.
No deciden qué se borra y qué no, ni a quién se bloquea y a quién no. Eso lo deciden las políticas de Wikipedia y, si no, la propia comunidad.
No tienen ninguna responsabilidad legal, ni de representación de Wikipedia, más allá de la que tenga cualquier otro wikipedista.
No son infalibles, ni sus actos tienen por qué sentar precedentes.
No tienen poder de veto, ni capacidad de decisión mayor que la de cualquier otro wikipedista.

I was an admin in the Aymar Wikipedia for 4 months during 2007. I have some basic knowledge of Quechua and Aymara, and since there are no native aymara speakers, I would like to continue with some editions and translations of the interface of the wiki. I have just sent emails to some bolivians that maybe in the near future could help improving the quality of the articles, but since maybe they will be new with the interface of wikipedia, I would like to help them as an admin for the first months. Thank you!.

Fui administrador en la Wikipedia Aymara por 4 meses en el 2007. Tengo algunos conocimientos basicos del Quechua y Aymara, y como no hay hablantes nativos de aymara aun, me gustaria continuar con algunas ediciones y traducciones de la interface de la wiki. Acabo de enviar emails a algunos bolivianos y espero que pronto puedan ayudarnos a mejorar la calidad de articulos, pero como quizas para ellos sera nuevo el manejo de la interface de wikipedia, me gustaria ayudarlos siendo administrador por los primeros meses. Gracias!.

. El renombre a nivel global, parece más una estrategia para cubrir su pasado y ocultar los problemas en los que estaba involucrado, no un intento por redimirse. El solicitar flag de bibliotecario en wikis sin muchas contribuciones (y por tanto vandalismo), no ayuda al proyecto, en realidad parece más un intento por obtener cualquier tipo de status global con el fin de lograr una reducción y/u olvidar los bloqueos que actualmente tiene en es@wiki y en@wiki. . The global rename, seems more like an strategy to cover the past and hide the problems he was involved on, clearly not an attempt to redeem himself. The search for flags in certain wikis without much contributions (and therefore vandalism), doesn't help the project, really seems more like a pray to gain any kind of global status in order to achieve a reduction and/or forget the locks that he currently has on en@wiki and es@wiki.

: Pienso lo mismo, no sé qué busca con la bibliotecaría teniendo en cuenta que actualmente está con bloqueos en varios proyectos y aquí mismo pidió los botones pocos meses antes, pero fueron rechazados. Lo siento, pero coleccionar flags de sysop por varias wikipedias no cambiará el hecho de su condición. De hecho su trabajo en TranslateWiki de traducir frases al español no es buena, y tienen errores ortográficos evidentes; por lo que con un idioma de mayor especialización y menos hablado como el aymará, puede representar un desafío ya que Diego no ha demostrado que pueda expresar en aymará de manera natural, salvo ayuda de algún software de traducción. --

I didn't say it should be immediate. By contrast, it's obvious that at least a week should be wait. And if we had to take care about the contributions of the other votes, they should be struck too, in addition that no one of them are part of the Aymar Wikipedia community. --

It is hurry since 1 hour after opening this, you wnet meta and request the sysop. Then you were told to wait a week, so it wasn't that opbvious (to you) that you shoudl've waited a week for the poll to close. That's why I point you're on a hurry to get another flag.

Diego I'm not being sarcastic, I'm being realistic and objective, if you don't know to elucidate between them in favor of editorial continuity, it does to strengthen my position against the implementation of the flag for you, it seem like you think that I'm attacking you, when it's not, I'm pointing out problems you've had and they should not making you even to make you reflect on where you were wrong. Saying that I'm sarcastic, and that you don't care, shows that you look the wrong side of the quarter, like if I was wrong, and belive it or not, I'm afraid that you're going to act like that with an nova/newcomer/rookie.

Hey there, I'd like to ask for a 3-month temporal admin flag. I've been talking with Ruben from Jaqi Aru(an Aymara community oriented to promote Aymara language and culture) and we have planned a series of workshops to improve the contents and community of Wikipedia in Aymara. The flag would help me to move some pages, clean up some help pages that still exist with Spanish names and create users from the same IP when necessary. I already have admin flags at es@wiki commons and a couple more. I also intend to drop the flag in three months and then let the future community choose their own admins. --

Hola gente. Con el grupo de trabajo de Wikimedia Bolivia estamos trabajando con la comunidad Jaqi Aru que recientemente creó una página aquí y tienen un gran interés en crear contenido en aymara para Wikipedia. Deseo tener derechos de administrador para poder borrar páginas y crear usuarios desde una misma ip. Tambień para organizar las páginas de ayuda entre otros. El flag sería temporal y luego sería retirado para que la propia comunidad sea la que empiece a elegir sus propios administradores, bibliotecarios o cual sea el nombre que escojan. --
