Había pensado en usar plantillas generales, pero debido a que existen significados diferentes en algunas palabras (de 2 o más significados), se pretende crear dos o más plantillas, por ejemplo: plantilla

que solo tiene una traducción, y plantilla

La tecnica con plantillas para los bloques de traducciones tiene limites. Por ejemplo
cuahuitl
árbol
. Ambos artículos en este momento usan la plantilla "cuahuitl", y en alemán efectivamente una traducción posible de "cuauitl" es "Holz", pero al otro lado "Holz" no es una traducción posible para "arból"; en espanol "Holz" es "madera". Entonces en estos dos casos la plantilla es utilizable para "cuahuitl" pero no para "árbol".

Pero no es cosa complicada un po? Tan muchas plantillas y por medio dos o tres artículos que usan una de estas plantillas! Y además plantillas son un poco más dificil de encontrar y de editar que artículos normales.

Hola Frank, no me había dado cuenta que has creado categorías nuevas, he estado revisandolas creo que la palabra más propia es tlahtolcueptli (nahuatlahtolli), tlahtolcueptin no se usa, el plurar en idioma mexicano generalmente nse usa solo para animales y personas, en cosas, plantas conceptos y sustantivos no animados no suele usarse o más bien no existe. La palabra
tlahtolcueptin
sigue la lógica del plural, pero nunca la he visto como palabra en este idioma. Un abrazo!!--

He visto que has hecho un gran trabajo, ya empiezan en otros wikicionarios a traducir las palabras que hemos subido aquí, muchas gracias por apoyar, difundir y enamorarte del idioma mexicano; ahora pienso que los mexicanos tenemos más cosas en común con Alemania y no nos hemos dado cuenta, nuestros idiomas se semejan en estructura, además somos pueblos cultos. Al menos en alemán tenemos dos palabras diferentes para "verde". Una es el adjetivo "grün" y el otro es el sustantivo "das Grün".
Gramaticalmente se puede decir "Das Grün ist grün" (Creo que en español tabién es posible decir: "El verde es verde.").
En el artículo "
verde
" en este momento tenemos dos partes: una para el sustantivo (yeltic) y el otro para el adjetivo (tōcatlacencaquetl). No estoy seguro, si también tenemos la diferencia entre adjetivo y sustantivo en náhuatl. Pero si la tenemos, no podemos traducir ambas con las mismas palabras, o - en este caso - con la misma plantilla (
{{xoxoctic}})
Entonces en casos similares o no usamos plantillas de traducción o usamos plantillas diferentes para adjetivos y sustantantivos. Por ejemplo "

Esta tabla servirá de mucho porque podemos hacer que de otros idiomas se pueda traducir por usuarios que deseen integrarse a este diccionario náhuatl; así también como del náhuatl hacia otros idiomas indígenas desde una misma lógica de conceptos que no existen en el mundo occidental; por eso separé las lenguas americanas de las lenguas europeas ya que tienen conceptos distintos en muchos de los casos, y de igual modo el español, el alemán e inglés nos va ayudar a introducir términos propios de la cultura occidental a las lenguas indígenas.--

Mira, cambié el nombre de esa plantilla, porque integré un idioma nuevo, llamado Totonaco de Papantla, y su ISO es

, no me había dado cuenta que esa plantilla ya existía para el ordenaminto de las traducciones. Me parace muy bien que con un bot podamos cambiar todo sin tanto problema, pero ya he credo artículos en totonaco que no se si se pueden ver afectados (

).
Para cuestiones técnicas del proyecto, podemos usar plantillas en inglés sinabreviaturas, para evitar que sean confundidos con los ISOs de los idiomas no se alteren. Muchos saludos.--

1. Ok. He entendido y acceptado tu motivo de cambiar la plantilla "top". Pero conoces tú un bot, que puede cambiar todas las plantillas "top" usados para las traducciones menos ellas con el sentido nuevo?
2. "Plantillas en inglés sin abreviaturas". También ok. Tienes propuestas concretas? Podriamos cambiar "mid" en "middle". Pero con la suceción:
Introducir la plantilla nueva "middle".
Cambiar en todos artículos, que usan "mid", la plantilla "mid" en "middle".
Definir la plantilla "mid" con un sentido nuevo.
Usar la plantilla nueva "mid".

Hola Frank; gracias por ordenar las plantillas de traducción, se ve muy bien todo ordenado, pero para las palntillas que tienen dos significados diferentes no me queda duda que se coloque 2,3,4 etc. Para evitar conflicto, podemos poner por ejemplo, metztli, metztli 2, metztli 3 y suprimir 1 como el caso de metztli 1, el cual llevará su contenido solo metztli. ¿Qué opinas?. is a MediaWiki extension used to detect likely abusive behavior patterns, like pattern vandalism and spam. In 2013,
Global AbuseFilters
were enabled on a limited set of wikis including Meta-Wiki, MediaWiki.org, Wikispecies and (in early 2014) all the "
small wikis
". Recently, global abuse filters were enabled on "
medium sized wikis
" as well. These filters are currently managed by stewards on Meta-Wiki and have shown to be very effective in preventing mass spam attacks across Wikimedia projects. However, there is currently no policy on how the global AbuseFilters will be managed although there are proposals. There is an ongoing

on policy governing the use of the global AbuseFilters. In the meantime, specific wikis can opt out of using the global AbuseFilter. These wikis can simply add a request to

To facilitate

granting of
bot
access, I suggest implementing the
standard bot policy
on this wiki. In particular, this policy allows stewards to automatically flag known interlanguage (interwiki) linking bots (if this page says that is acceptable), which form the vast majority of such requests. The policy also enables
global bots
on this wiki (if this page says that is acceptable), which are trusted bots that will be given bot access on every wiki that allows global bots. At this moment the Wiktionaries are not supported by
Wikidata
yet, so interwiki bot activity will still be present in this project.
This policy makes bot access requesting much easier for local users, operators, and stewards. To implement it we only need to create a redirect to this page (or the community page where bot requests are handled) from
Project:Bot policy
, and add a line at the top noting that it is used here. Please read the text at

on one of the items on the 2015 community wishlist, namely
enabling searching the archive of deleted pages
. This feature is now ready for production deployment, and will be enabled on all wikis, except Wikidata.
Right now, the feature is behind a feature flag - to use it on your wiki, please go to the
Special:Undelete
page, and add
&fuzzy=1
to the URL, like this:
. Then search for the pages you're interested in. There should be more results than before, due to using ElasticSearch indexing (via the CirrusSearch extension).
We plan to enable this improved search by default on all wikis soon (around August 1, 2017). If you have any objections to this - please raise them with the Discovery team via

or on this announcement's discussion page. Like most Mediawiki configuration parameters, the functionality can be configured per wiki.
Once the improved search becomes the default, you can still access the old mode using
&fuzzy=0
in the URL, like this:

Hi everyone. The
Readers web team
has recently begun working on exposing issue templates on the mobile website. Currently, details about issues with page content are generally hidden on the mobile website. This leaves readers unaware of the reliability of the pages they are reading. The goal of this project is to improve awareness of particular issues within an article on the mobile web. We will do this by changing the visual styling of page issues.
So far, we have
drafted a proposal on the design and implementation
of the project. We were also able to run
user testing on the proposed designs
. The tests so far have positive results. Here is a quick summary of what we learned:
The new treatment increases awareness of page issues among participants. This is true particularly when they are in a more evaluative/critical mode.
Page issues make sense to readers and they understand how they work
Readers care about page issues and consider them important
Readers had overwhelmingly positive sentiments towards Wikipedia associated with learning about page issues
Our next step would be to start implementing these changes. We wanted to reach out to you for any concerns, thoughts, and suggestions you might have before beginning development. Please

As the Wikimedia projects developed, the need for the current global bot policy decreased, and in the past years, no bots were appointed via that policy. That is mainly given Wikidata were estabilished in 2013, and it is no longer necessary to have dozens of bots that maintain interwiki links.

Hello everyone,
I apologize for posting in English. I would like to inform everyone that I created a new global request for comment (GRFC) at Meta Wiki, which may affect your project:
m:Requests for comment/Set short project namespace aliases by default globally
In this GRFC, I propose that two-project shortcuts for project names will become a default alias for the project namespace. For instance, on all Wikipedias, WP will be an alias to the Wikipedia: namespace (and similar for other projects). Full list is available in the GRFC.
This is already the case for Wikivoyages, and many individual projects asked for this alias to be implemented. I believe this makes it easier to access the materials in the project namespace, as well as creating shortcuts like
WP:NPOV
, as well as helps new projects to use this feature, without having to figure out how to request site configuration changes first.
As far as I can see,
Wiktionary
currently does not have such an alias set. This means that such an alias will be set for you, if the GRFC is accepted by the global community.

Global bot policy changes

Global bots are now subject to a 2 week discussion, and it'll be publicized via a MassMessage list, available at

on Meta. Please subscribe yourself or your wiki if you are interested in new global bots proposals.
For a bot to be considered for approval, it must demonstrate it is welcomed in multiple projects, and a good way to do that is to have the bot flag on at least 5 wikis for a single task.
The bot operator should make sure to adhere to the wiki's preference as related to the use of the bot flag (i.e., if a wiki doesn't want a bot to use the flag as it edits, that should be followed).
